Im 28, and I dont remember in my generation too many games where Hird and Barassi graced the paddock in the same game, nor Leigh Matthews for that matter. If you could confirm for me that Barassi, Matthews and Hird all played in my generation, say from about 1990 onwards, Ill happyily recind my biased statement

A generation usually refers to the last 60-80 years, not your generation.

If you were referring to your generation, then you should say "Greatest living footballer of [bold]my[/bold] time, once in [bold]my[/bold] generation".

Well, I would say that Barassi was the best of my Grandfathers generation, Matthews was the best of my Dads Generation, and Hird was the best of my generation. But whatever.
