Bulls Go to Green

Buy Tickets: Bulls vs. Miami Heat | March 18 | United Center | 1:00 p.m. CT | CSN-Chicago
March 7, 2006 – The Chicago Bulls will showcase a specially designed St. Patrick’s Day uniform as part of the NBA’s holiday celebration. The team will celebrate the holiday by wearing its special edition uniforms on Saturday, March 18 when they host the Miami Heat at 1:00 p.m.

The home green jerseys will incorporate elements from the team’s red road jerseys for the Shamrock Saturday matinee. The wordmark “BULLS” will remain the same, in black block lettering with white trim and the Bulls logo will also remain consistent with the traditional red, black and white Bull’s head.

“St. Patrick’s Day has traditionally been one of the great, and most fun, days of the year in the city of Chicago,” said Executive Vice President of Business Operations Steve Schanwald. “In Chicago, it seems as if everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day, everyone gets into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit, and this is our way of joining in on the fun and celebration.”

Along with the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, Chicago is one of three NBA teams that will wear the commemorative green uniforms this season. The St. Patrick’s Day celebration is a first for the NBA and sets the stage for the league’s plan to celebrate specific holidays via limited edition merchandise and fan gear. The green Bulls gear can be purchased at Fandemonium, the official team store at the United Center, as well as on nba.com and in select retail outlets.
