we actually just rented Transformers out this week, sweet movie......kids were pretty pumped when I showed them this trailer. Have to be honest it was hard not to notice Megan Fox is fiiiiiiiiine
 
sweet trailer, really enjoyed the first one.

and yes megan is one major fox (would make an decent Lara Croft if the Tomb Raider revamp happens)
 
Everyone seems to like this incarnation of the Transformers, but the characters are all completely wrong. Optimus was doing comedy in the first one, Bumblebee was serious and intelligent...that just isn't right! And I really don't like the look of the bots, I understand they can't be as simple as the classic cartoons but do they really need to be so organic?

I literally fell asleep after about an hour of the first movie.

While I get what you're saying, and that was my initial gripe when I saw it, I think that the end result was a better translation for the big screen. Come on, lets face it, the original characters would look down right goofy in their actual form! Bumble bee with his two horns and humanoid face? Imagine that for a second. Worse still, imagine Megatron with his school girl hair cut and scowl as translated directly from the cartoon. The special effects and hydraulics and cool mechanics was a big part of the appeal of the movie and I for one, wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh, and Megan Fox has got some fineeeeeeee boooty. That's the second reason for the film's success, btw.

Yeah, Megan Fox almost kept me awake, but was countered by Shyla Boeuf!

I already conceded that they couldn't run with the original look precisely, but in my opinion they just went a bit too far overboard with the "organicness". Regardless of that, there is no excuse for Optimus seemingly being foolish, almost a comedic character and Bumblebee being super-intelligent. Why go so far away from the original Transformers storyline/character traits?

While I agree Shyla's a bit of a w a n k er (mostly cos he got to work with such fine booooooooty), he did give the film some well timed comic relief (you can shoot me now).

The original storyline would involve thin plots to steal precious Energon cubes...hardly inspiring stuff for a movie! But yes, I agree they could have followed the character traits a bit more.

What I want to know is, when are the Dinobots going to make an appearance?!

If the Dinobots appear, Grimlock will be the Cybertron equivalent of Stephen F-ing Hawking!
 
they said it would be to hard to fit the dinobots in because they are trying to keep the robots in forms that fit in with wats on earth

but the dinobots were my favs in the cartoon

Hah! Grimlock had one of the stupidest voice for one of the best bad ass Autobots ever.

Incidentally, just in case I'm the only one who loves IMDB and the trivia section, Optimus Prime's the only original voiceover from the cartoon...and that actor does the voice for Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh too :D

Didn't know he did Ironhide too! Had a browse through his credits on IMDB when you mentioned that and he's got a heck lot of classic cartoon stuff, including Dungeons & Dragons, Spiderman, Gummy Bears, Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers and GI Joe! Cool...

Well Transformers was a bit before my time mate so I really didn't know much about it.

The reason I loved the first movie so much, was because I was expecting it to be ****house. After all when you make superhero movies they tend to be lame, so making Robots and making it cool - I was really suspicious. But they pulled it off and that's why I enjoyed it, regardless of whether it follows the comics exactly or not..
