AFL what happened

4 different inserts per box. 2 different plastic type inserts.
I guess these have replaced the Sketch cards.

Thats the only details i have seen/read/heard. Will post more if i hear anything else.

yes and what/who is your source. for all i know you could have made it up.

lol ok, think that if you like. I am only posting the information i have been told. Sorry for trying to provide ppl with some interesting info b4 the release. But it comes from the same source that knew about the platinums b4 the classic release, and knew the exact makeup of last years series one. So i would think he has some idea.

omg..... yet again. dude just say who told you or where you find this information. Whats the point of keeping anything a "secret". Not doubting it really, just want a source.

Hi guys

Or this arguing over what 09 is like by the sound of it will be the same like the last five year of stuff they made i can figure out classic series 1 and then classic series 2

They don't exactly change much in the AFL boxes.

i bought a pack at newsagent of 2008 team coach series was very average
must of been the low end cards. i bought them for curiosity sake got one silver card in it wasn't that great but you get one of those every pack

dude Team Coach and the Select Series are completely different. Team Coach are cards as apart of some game.

Sketches and Gems are played out. Whoever at Select thought sketches were a good idea needs to be banished from the industry. To be honest i dont really care what they do with series 1, but drastic changes need to be made for series 2. Sure you get a draft pick (afl) or Top Prospect (Nrl) a box, but lets be honest, only 1 or 2 of these players a year turn out to be top class players....... in 30 years is anyone really going to care if you have a Nick Youngquest Future Force signature?
The lack of (variety across all codes) from Select favours the card stores who open boxes, grab the case hit and sell the rest of the boxes at full price. They must laugh their asses off when they pull it out in the first few boxes. They need lucrative inserts for the ratio of 1 per 2 boxes and 1 per 6 boxes, so your average collector has some sort of chance at hitting something nice. They seem to be a bit better in Afl than they are with NRL.
In closing.............FIND SOME NEW IDEAS AND GET RID OF SKETCHES AND GEMS!!!

Everything that Foldee said.

I wish select would just copy the America card industry. Patches, game worn material, game worn material autos, triple game worn cards, double/triple/quaddriple autos, logo, etc etc etc. Something new needs to be done. Urgently.

Totally agree, they are giving us a 90's product in the new millennium!!!

not really it seems. Though they do say they have people who read all these forums and they consider the ideas. Though consider is about all they do.

Hi guys

Hey what about some limted autos cards. Just take a look at what happened to Basketball Pannini has taken over the sport because topps and upper Deck has made a **** load of autos cards that makes most autos are worh like ten dolars.

If autos were all limted to 100 or less they might make them worth something.

So please can we have some jersey game used cards with player signing on the jersey and make it 1/1 card very rare

Cause really an autograph with limted auto to out of 299 or 500 is a bloody joke.

I am trying to get back into AFL but when i can buy Soccer Unqiue cards why would i bother with ****ty AFL cards

Worth something? Have you actually looked what they are worth? The least an auto card is worth (player who doesn't quite make the AFL grade) is $20-$30. The ones that do become regular players can go upto $250-300 (Judd/Franklin etc)

To limit auto numbers would mean less auto cards (yes good for higher prices) but then they could not guarantee 1 auto per box. Thus boxes would cost $200 or so and your not guaranteed anything worth more than $10... Unless you are guanteed an auto and the boxes cost $500 or so...

The NBA make so many autos because they have so many different releases. This has caused a flood of the market and like you said... auto's are now worth $2-$10... and that includes the ones numbered to 10/25/50/99 etc..

I've pulled an Iverson wood auto & Wade wood auto #/10 and they are worth $100 max... That only just covers the box price... impossible to get your money back....

Exquisite patch/auto's mostly sell for under $100 (including most rookies).... and a lot of these are #/25 or /50.. Is that what you want??

I agree they need to insert some new types of cards like gu and patches but not limiting all the autos to 100 or less... Some maybe, but not all...

Thank god for ruckers. Seriously why do people just buy boxes to try and make money. What ever happened to collecting them. Be thankful we get signatures cards.

Hi mate

i agree with that yes basketball products are flooded

but if they made limited autos in AFl they would be worth something

Cause there is like one of two card companies that make AFL products

I really don't enjoy an auto card if there is like 500 already out there. im sure they could put other stuff like game used and other things in the boxes to make them worth while.

i like opening boxes but reckon it spoils it you're guaranteed a certain amount of autos or cards. It spoils the fun of busting cards if you already know what you are going get in them.

dude the only reason we pay extra for a box is so that we know we are going to get an auto. Why do you think we see such low prices on Boxes of Basketball cards that dont guarantee an auto a box. If series 2 didnt feature an auto a box then a lot of people wouldnt buy more then 1 box if they didnt hit the first time.

hi

yer but to me 200 dollars a box i bought some F1 cards and some lower end soccer cards and they were better and cost about 200 dollars a box each as well had game used stuff.

All AFL has is auto cards prefer if they got some game used stuff into it considering other products have better stuff for same box price.

Have a look a photobucket the F1 cards and even benchwrmers cards that cost about 150 a box have more limited autos cards than AFL cards
