The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

You should look that one up on Youtube or something and watch it again, might change your outlook on that altercation. Both players got tangled up together, the Gasol shove in the end was retaliation from Dwights shove with his elbow. Double tech, game on...

Yeah fair call, I'll look it up and check it out again.

But I guess since I didn't see it the first few times, despite them playing the instant replay a few times, makes it a legit call. Cause like, the refs wouldn't have had that much time to make the call and only would've reviewed it on video once or twice quickly, it seems like Gasol's move was one that was more obvious and caught the eye quicker. If Dwight did throw an elbow it definately wasn't as obvious as Gasol with the shove haha.. either way, tough call down the stretch.

Yep totally agree, i watched the game on austar and Gasol wrapped him up first, then Dwight elbowed Gasol in the side of the head (Refs didnt see it) oh well. As they said in the game its always the second action that gets caught. I didnt like the call but i can live with it, Gasol should have just walked away.

You're right on the money there. Gasol was always going to get called because after he got shoved he retaliated for all to see, rather than keep it discrete and smart or better yet like you said, just walk away. You don't do that when the game is on the line unless you're the coach and you need a spark or wake up call for/from your players.

i had things to do so I didn't get the see the game as planned but I have some informative advice for you Laker fans still

We dropped 2 close ones in a row against top 4 teams that are now both sitting second respectively in their conference, during the regular season while not at full strength... :-k

Might save that panic button (if needed) for a later date. Afterall, we've got plenty of teams coming up sitting outside the 8 where we can 'redeem' ourselves.

32 and a half hours and counting before we face that Cavs at home. I'm not about to call the outcome but it will be a huge win if we defend home court the right way.

We want Ta-cos, But more importantly, we want de-fense...

Damn, not how I had the day planned, my brothers got me out in the blazing hot sun loading and unloading a rental truck all morning/afternoon. Picked a great day to move... :(

Anyway, what can you do... home in time for an Ice cold shower, a colder beer and the last quarter... :)

How we doing so far? Anyone watching?

Been watching on and off and I just cracked a cold beer :-D

Lakers with a buffer now thats more than what the scoreboard says.

Nice one. From the looks of the stats I'd say Kobe and Bron have been facing up all game, low as shooting percentages but Kobe's not getting any from the FT line, makes a difference. Either way, we don't need Kobe scoring heaps to win this, Pau, Bynum and Vujacic all chipping in. LeBron could be his own worst enemy in this last 10 or so minutes.

Points in the paint has been the Cavs killer. Too many jumpers and plainly outsized as expected. Kobe has now hit some big shots one on one to end it all.

Lakers should of controlled the game a lot more though with the rosters out there though. They did a decent job of clogging the lane as you have to with Bron but failed to overpower the Cavs frontline as they should of.

That's pretty much the key factor in this match up, especially without Big Z, have to exploit that. It's funny to think that bron being contained means he only has 18 to his name, but everyone know's how quickly he can light it up and get to the hole, stick with what's worked and it's a dub.

Where was the contact??? Love to say Bron get's the Oscar, but that's some bad, bad acting, just admit it, that's the second time this quarter Ariza picked your pocket.

Looks like it's sealed, we've blown some big leads but I think there's too much home court momentum in our favor right now. Crowd is loving it. Close it out strong Lakers...

ARIZA is the king not Lebron

Had a huge fourth quarter.

After dropping to a 7 point lead twice I can't believe the final margin was 17. Teams will go on runs but it tends to happen alot to us, maybe they just get too comfortable at times.

Anyway, a badly needed win against a top tier team and from what I seen, the defense they're capable of playing is starting to show up, which is good to see. We still need to find consistency though.
