Seeing that everyone on here appears to be just as, if not more, geeky as myself, I thought I'd see what our favourite tele to watch is.

Thought I'd better start off with some US stuff first - their best dramas I can think of from the last decade.

For me it is a tough choice between the Sopranos, Dexter and Deadwood, but I think Dexter wins out in the end purely on the new concept and depth.

What do you guys reckon?

Love Dexter, great show and very well done storyline, characters and plots...but Deadwood is the best TV show ever made, period (pardon the pun). Not for the kiddie, well, not for most adults either really, but just an absolute joy of a series, still ropeable about the final series being dropped! Sopranos will probably poll well here, but I never really watched it.

I want to vote for the Lakers. With a lead character like Kobe there is always a drama especially the years when they had Kwame.

The Lakers were still the highest rating show on TV 3 years running and have come 2nd twice during the "Kobe Years"....at least they haven't had to "buy" an audience like the Smeltics!!;)

Buying, trading...isn't that what teams should do to get better?? We stole KG and you stole Shaq..

I've been thinking about the original Q and the standout is clearly Supernatural. Don't watch many if any others apart from that.

Has there been a bigger steal than Pau?....ever? makes the great train robbery look pretty unimpressive.

Back on topic, Deadwood was outstanding but the West Wing was even better (but then i am a little bit of a political nerd:)).

I dont think anything could knock off the sopranos off the top of my list, an absolute masterpiece, at least for the first 5 seasons, season 6 (the "brokeback soprano" season ) was pretty lame but the final season was excellent.

I also think the wire is brilliant, certainly the most well made cop show ive ever seen. very realistic and the attention to detail is astounding, very complex storylines too. also a big fan of dexter, i dont think its as brilliant as most ppl, but its a brilliant concept and very well executed, it just doesnt scream masterpiece to me though. The Shield is also a great cop drama, wonderful acting and really brutal, realistic storylines at times. i used to love OZ when it was on sbs, was fully addicted, however, it just got a bit samey after a few seaons and i lost interest.

ive heard such good things about deadwood but never actually watched an ep yet.

And ive got to add one show, dunno if its strictly drama, but Veronica Mars was f^&*ing brilliant, i loved it to bits. the first season is one of the best seasons of any tv show in history IMO.

shame they also scrapped plans for telemovies to wrap it up

Picked Heroes as im a sci fi nut, love Heroes, Lost, Supernatural, Surface, X Files, Fringe etc

Never got into Sopranos but if i flicked by an episode id end up watching it.

I have Dexter and Rome on my watch list.

Law and Order is the most contrived and predictable show on telly. I liked it when it first appeared until I realised that it is just the same episode every week.

The writers on that show have the easiest job in the world...
