More PSA 10 Rookie Goodness

More goodies in the post today. These deserve some full sized action.

This card takes me to #50 on the PSA 10 list of Rookie cards. I actually picked this card up as it was graded in a PSA case and mislabelled as a regular Hoops RC. The missing foil from the front made me recognise it as a Hoops Schick RC. Got it in from the seller and it was indeed the Schick RC. I sent it in to PSA to have it corrected and it got back today. Very happy with the score as an impossible card to find at the best of times without it being in this condition!

Next up - PSA 10 #51 a tough card to get both centred and without some form of chipping. I have both the regular and Golden Idol in PSA 10 now, and there are only 1 of each 10 in existence.

Hey, what's the background on the Schick RCs? Don't know if I've seen 'em before...

From the Beckett Annual :

As part of a second quarter promotion by Schick Shaving Products Group, a divison of the Warner-Lambert Co., this 30 card set features 29 of the NBA's top rookies. The checklist card, which completes the set, features Donyell Mrshall shaving with the official NBA Tracer Razor on it's front. Three cards were available in each specially-marked package of Tracer 5 and 10 pack refills. The package also included a special mail-in offer whereby the collector received the complete set by sending in three proof of purchase plus $2.50 for postage and handling. The offer expired 12/31/95 or while supplies lasted. These cards have the same design as their regular issue conterparts, except that the word "Rookie" and the player's name on the fronts are in gold (rather than gold foil) lettering. Also these cards are unnumbered.
