Just wondering what other members are poker players? Mainly interested to see if any other WA members are poker players & I unknowingly see them weekly when playing in the WAPL events....

If any WA players want to know what the WAPL is then check out: Western Australian Poker League

played quite a bit of poker before it really took off and wouldnt mind getting in on some poker action whether it be joining WAPL or just a casual night with a few boys.
if we got a few poker players from here to get together the upside would be when ya lose all ya money ya could put some nice cards in the pot instead hehehe

'All in with a Jordan auto.....' :D

Haha..... that would be cool mate! :D But yeah..... would be cool to catch up @ a WAPL event.... free league is only $10/year & they have a pro league too.

Going to play @ the Elephant & the Wheelbarrow tonight actually.... :D

Yeah play a bit online and live at the local razzle each week (Bonus of getting to have a drink and a bit of a punt during breaks)

You mean Jokerstars eh Jase? What's a turbo tourney? I just play with fake chippies, am up to bout $12M now :D

Turbo tourneys have a set number of players and blinds increase rapidly forcing players to play. I play low cost turbo tourneys NL (real money) coz people tend to play more realistically when cash is involved. Hate getting sucked out playing with fake chips by guys who call everything hoping to hit big. I'm not patient enough any more to play limit or longer tourneys so these are perfect for me. An example of a tourney with prize money and 10 players would be:

Buy-in: $3.30 (the 0.30 is the banks take)
1st: $18
2nd: $8
3rd: $4

I tend to always make sure I finish top 3 (which isn't hard) to slowly but surely increase my profit. I play for the thrill of the win not the money, but the money is a must for people to play properly.

The freerolls are good fun if you dont take it too seriously (well at the start atleast, most of the monkey bust out eventually or get a gigantic stack).

Found myself playing more HORSE and Omaha games of late.

Managed to turn $1.50 from Pacific Poker into $270.00 (mainly thanks to the casino)

Good work! I'm about $300US up myself just playing those random turbo's I was talking about. Managed to come first in a couple that involved 45 players, but the patience was killing me so don't do that any more!

Are the turbos good for FPP's and other things.

Contemplated putting some cash down, getting stars bonus money though has about 500 lines of fine print, i guess limit games would be a good start.

I amazingly got a first place in one of the weekly round 2 freerolls, 4500+ players:lol: The no limit freerolls are a "fun" 12000 almost all the time.

Ive been making some decent money on King which is a fun game site.

Deposited $10 euro, up to $145 euro in just over 2 months of .50 vs games and .50 tourneys

I play on PokerStars too Jase.... though I haven't played on there for about a month or longer, but yeah I usually just play the turbo's as well...... my best money win on there so far was coming first in a 45 player $6.60 buy-in game... payout was $84 for first :)

I played a lot before the boom

The fun had gone and i was purely playing for the $

Working 40hrs a week thru the day then staying up all night playing tornys

3yrs ago i was in a big multi table on PokerStars(started @ 4am Sunday), 11 left and i was chip leader, played faultless for 6 1/2 hours..... then copped 3 bad beats in a row and finished with $550 for 11th. 3 outer on the river all 3 times.

After replacing my broken keyboard  i never played serious again.

Funny how we only really remember the badbeats

I login to PS maybe once a month to play a $12 1 table turbo, only if i have an hour to fill.

Sounds a bit like me mate! My mate gave up being a lawyer and for the last 2-3 years has been playing poker around 40-60 hours a week! Makes a killing most months.

Jodie just took me to the casino for my burthday.

Outlayed $170 for my first ever cash play and walked off with $900 then got another $500 in a pokie so its been a great day.
