HEATH Ledger is dead.

The 28-year-old Perth-born actor was found dead in his apartment in New York.

The celebrity website TMZ said Ledger was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3.35pm New York time (7.35am AEDT).

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime.

Ledger has a two year old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams. He was set to play the Joker in the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight.
 
Yea out of all the celebrities I expect to hear about dying suddenly, Heath wasn't one of them. Some reports are saying drugs may have been a factor..
Unfortunately, The Dark Knight is going to get alot of publicity out of this.

Very sad news.

I saw the preview of the new Batman movie the other day so it mustn't be far away.

RIP Heath.
 
I read a story a few months back that said that Heath had lost the plot totally whilst playing the joker due to him breaking up with his wife/daughter ect... the report said he would only allow the makeup artist in to do his joker makeup and that noone on set could talk to him....I'm also told that this he is the best and scariest joker ever!! and makes Jack nickilson's performance as the joker look like a common circus clown. This is terribly sad news but from what I read not totally unexpected, the guy obviously needed help and sadly didn't recieve it in time.

Big shock over here in Perth where he grew up. Heaps of people on the radio all day expressing their condolences and experiences with him personally, sad day...
 
Yeah, very sad and totally unexpected! :eek: I first heard about it as I was fuelling up at a servo. As I was paying, it came over the radio, B105 I think. I think it was that Camilla who was talking, then she crossed to a caller who was talking about it. The presenter then started saying in what I thought was a real matter-of-fact voice, "Yeah, such a shock, ay? And they reckon drugs were involved?" I honestly thought it was just a sick publicity stunt, like a prank call where everyone was in on the joke, so I was pretty mad that they'd treat it so lightly. Hope his family get through it and his fiancee/daughter can get on with their lives...
