NBA 2K8 - HOF Association

Don't have that link, but wouldnt mind seeing it.

As for the halftime highlights, the full movies, and top 3 plays, etc, they'd only be available on 360 or PS3 as these have HDDs, something that records the full game when playing.

Love the Stat Tracker!!!

Thats sick i think i gotta get it now coz i heard about that feature and the more realistic the ball game is the better IMO

With Jason Terry starting to regain his shooting form, the Mavericks are really starting to heat up.

Team Manager Mr Godfrey is considering moving Terry into the starting 5, moving Eddie Jones to more of a reserve role.

Just 1 day prior to heading to San Antonio, the Mavs learnt they would be without Veteran PF Juwan Howard after suffering from Plantar Fascilitis (19 days).

Howard has little to no impact on the Mavericks Roster, as Rookie Nick Fazekas, and new comer Jason Smith, combined with Brandon Bass provide the backup support in the 4 & 5 positions.

How many minutes do you play per quarter? I am currently tweaking sliders in exhibition games to try and get a realistic setup before I start a franchise.

I think so, although I usually just hit "x" at half time to skip to the start of the third quarter, so I have never noticed!! Although at the end, you can view the top three highlights from the game, as well as individual highlights from any player which is an absolutely awesome feature.

Also, does anyone have a link to a full ISO moves list online? I don't know about the 360 version, but the PS3 manual is pathetic. It tells you the basics, but there is nothing in there about how to beat a defender, execute post moves or defend!! Once I get some of these down pat, my scores should improve.

Im with you on this one, the manual tells you absolutely nothing. i find it annoying to go into the post when all you can do is back down and shoot a fade-away or hook shot. if anyone knows of some links would be handy..

a little off topic but i cant remember where i seen this link just wondering if anyone can help. some guy that created the whole chicago team with Jordan, Pippen and Co. on 2k8.

Cheers

I have been playing exhibition games for a week or two trying to tweak the sliders so they are to my liking before starting an Association. I still haven't been able to find the right mix! I think the rules and game sliders are okay, but I'm struggling with quarter length.

I started with 8 minute quarters for Milwaukee but after three games failed to score over 90 points. The highest scoring game was a 90-90 tie with Philadelphia and even then, I was rushing my posessions which I obviously don't want to do.

Then I played 10 minute quarters and put up too many points! (not to mention the Magic absolutely smashing me). They had posted about 90 by three quarter time when I quit.

It's frustrating! Might have to try 9 minute quarters tonight :p

90 points is still reasonable scoring.

Although a 90-90 tie would have been hard, without going into OT. ;)

Look at most teams in the NBA, they score between 80-100.

I shoot a lot of 3s sometimes, as I find the inside scoring sometimes too easy, and that I also like to see how many i can hit consecutively.

If you're scoring around 90 points, I'd say that you're ready to go. Unless your opponents are dropping 120 on you every time. Then it's back to the sliders.

Using the Bucks, how many points do you score with your best player (usually Redd).

As I said, my 90 points came when I was running my plays fairly quickly. Very rarely did my shot clock get below 10. That's ok though, I like a fast pace, but I also want to feel comfortable playing a slow offence when required without finishing with a final score of 70 or so.

Redd is usually my top scorer with between 25 and 30 but my big men chip in with some good points in the paint. One of either Bogut or Yi has about 12-20 points.

I am actually quite happy to be using a team with great three-point shooting ability (Redd, Williams, Simmons, Bell). I love the long bomb, but probably use it a bit too much.

Sounds like you're set then. Just if:
A - The opposition are dropping 120
and / or
B - Your defence sucks

Drop the CPU down a peg or two to make it closer.

In Dunk Comps?

Yeah just ask Colin (ducky_poo).

I need to pick the controller back up, I did have it down pat a while back.

Nope. In regular games. I have no idea. The manual is useless.

Every fast break I have, my player pulls up for a jumper close to the rim because I have no idea how to slam it down!

Pretty sure you need to have Turbo on (360 - Right Trigger, or PS2 - R2 I think).

Use the Right-Stick for variations (Flash, Flying, Straight Forward, Reverse).

Finally started my Association with Milwaukee!

Games scores and stats are relatively accurate so far which is pleasing.

I had a horrible start, dropping games to Orlando and Charlotte before beating the Bulls at home. I dropped a few more before a superb double OT win against Atlanta and a buzzer-beating three pointer from Redd to sink the Cavs.

Am currently 4-7 and playing the Lakers :)

Something that shits me, is how many times I post us beside the rim, go to shoot and my player steps BEHIND the backboard and shoots into the reverse side of the backboard lol. So frustrating.
