Where will Judd land?

i think its hard to tell where Judd will end up. I mean as a pies susporter i think we should move heaven & earth to get him, if that means Didak & first round draft pick well so be it. I mean at the end of the day i don't think money means alot to Judd (he isn't short of a dollar). No i am not saying Didak is in the same class as Judd, but if Judd doesn't want to go to Carlton i am sure that the eagles don't want to let him go to Richmond for nothing. So if the Pies offered the eagles Didak & 1st round pick, imo the eagles are at least getting a half decent player & the 1st round pick. Collingwood susporters who would you rather play for Collingwood next year Judd or Didak, i think that is a pretty easy question to answer, Judd by an absolute mile.

Except Didak won;t want to go, and the Eagles will ask for a combination of 2 of Dale Thomas, Travis Cloke and Pendlebury, none of which you guys will want to give up. Didak is past that point of trading value IMO, for this deal anyhow.
 
alright thats fair about Didak after the things that have happened to him this year, imo i still think he has currency. Where i had Didak put either Dane Swan or Ben Johnson, if Judd wants come to Collingwood then i am sure that the eagles could take one of these 3 players.

They have already said they want fair value, and favour draft picks. If no high draft picks (= Collingwood) they're going to want at least 2 players, 1 of which will have to be out of the 3 I named. 1 of those 3, and a Dane Swan, Heath Shaw (Highly unlikely cause of the bloodline) or Ben Johnson, MIGHT work.

EDIT: Only saying that about Didak also cause he's now committed to you, as you are to him, and the only time he;d want to leave would be to go back to SA. He has value, if you're trading him to SA :)
 
I'm going to have to stop caring.... cos as usual Hawthorn will have to do it the Hard way.... grrrr bloody stuck up bugger if he won't even meet with us... this is me pretending not to care!

yes collingwood will only have a high draft pick to offer along with a half decent player, but if the eagles only want low draft picks - eg Blues or Tigers, and Judd doesn't want to go to either of those 2 teams then that would mean, the eagles either get nothing and Judd goes to Richmond or they take my example, where you get a decent midfielder and an extra 1st round pick. I know which i would prefer something rather than nothing. Anyway it is all speculation, but good fun none the less.

Apparently he;s nominated Carlton, Melbourne, Collingwood and Essendon or something the other Andrew was saying?
Carlton has high picks to give, but doubt Judd will wanna go there, and like you said, I dun think it;s about Money.
Melbourne has 4th and prob another decent pick, as well as Cameron Bruce, Travis Johnstone...maybe others? Plus I think we have incentive to come to since he supported us throughout his childhood and while arn;t there yet, could be there-abouts in a couple of years.
Collingwood has very little in the way of what the Eagles will want that they are willing to give up = not alot of hope IMO (but we'll see, as you said, speculation). I think they'd demand 1 of those 3 I mentioned at the very least with either a pick or another player...But Collingwood being Collingwood, will want to pick him up cheap.
Essondon has...I would have said SFA...

These are all my opinions of course based on what little information has been given out.

AJ I thought about it. You wanted 1 good reason why he wouldn;t even talk to Hawthorn? Here it is.

He doesn;t want to be out in the eastern suburbs, away from the city, at Waverley Park. He has stated his reason for coming back is family, being CLOSE to family. I went to the school Judd went to, and he was a boarder in Malvern which is about halfway between Waverley Park and the City. He BOARDED = it was too far from his parents house to school to live with them.

Then look at the clubs he has 'alegedly' nominated.
Carlton: In the city, Optus Oval.
Collingwood: In the city, Lexus Center.
Melbourne: At Sandringham which is a short drive from the city, and the other place we train, get this, is at his former high school!
Essendon: Not far from the city and probably on the correct side of the city closer to his family.

I'm tipping his reasons for shutting out Hawthorn are simply geographical, IF he has shut out Hawthorn. That reason also shuts out Geelong and The Kangaroos (since they're making pushes to be a Cairns team), but Richmond he must simply not like them :razz: hahaha
 
You guys are all forgetting that we will most likely not take vics becasue they will end up leaving us for nothing. Collingwood will have to trade the likes of dids, swan, thompson etc for top 5 picks in this years draft, maybe for richmonds 2nd pick?

Judd wont be at Collingwood (hopefully), in the end i think the eagles will want to much for Judd and the pies don't want to part with the young players. Which leaves Carlton, essendon, Melbourne and possibly Tigers. I would love to see Judd go to the Tigers for nothing.

I'd be inclined to agree. Your team is going places, and giving up a chunk of that for Judd probably not in your best interests.
He doesn;t like the Tigers. Hasn't nominated them in his 4 to go 2 hahaha Suck in Tigerland!
 
Honestly Judd cant be coming back to money solely for money; if he is thats a stupid reason and he will end playing out his days like Kouto or Richo, racking stats and club honours without actually achieving anything team wise.

I reckon thats why he will rule out Richmond and Carlton unless they really wow him with a plan to jump up the ladder, or the Eagles drive a hard bargain a la Port Adelaide with Nick Stevens and he falls through to the pre season draft.

Collingwood can offer a bucket load of money, because they are Collingwood, but the great incentive would be to join a team on the up, and Essendon can probably offer similar money, they seem to be in disarray, with Sheedy and Hird leaving and no coach.

Melbourne is one of the dark horses for mine; high draft picks, and half decent players (if the eagles wish) but more importantly, Judd was a supporter of them as a kid.

The other dark horse in the race for mine is North Melbourne. Daniel Wells is a WA boy and I reckon the Eagles would do that in a heartbeat, especially if they dont get great offers from Carlton, Richmond and co.

Except they're no longer North Melbourne and are the Kangaroos for a reason, they're trying to move into other states for more supporters and money = defeats the purpose of Judd coming back here. Specially since they're looking to go to Cairns.
 
the tigers can still get Judd, if a deal cannot be done with carlton, melbourne or essendon and he goes in the pre-season draft, the tigers would get him for nothing, very unlikely.

Either your knowledge of Queensland geography is pretty sketchy or you have your own agenda for the people of Cairns, Ben :lol:

Thats a fair point tho; if they are going to become the Gold Coast Kangas or Brisbane Roos he wouldnt want to go...

However that probably wont happen for about 5 years minimum, and if they keep winning and making the top 4, the money will roll in and thats the reason they want to leave Vic.

I dont reckon they will leave Victoria for about 10 years - getting Judd will be 34 and probably retired by then.

But a dark horse for a reason.

At this stage only Geelong (to far away from the city) Saint Kilda (way to many young midfielders to trade for another one) and Footscray ( a bit out of the city and again too many young midfielders to get another one) are out of the race for mine.
