FINALS: GAME 5 EAGLES vs MAGPIES

Once again I agree! Neither team stands a chance against Geelong. Too many quick, gun players in the middle, and while the Pies and the Eagles defences are good, when you get good ball into a forward line as often as geelong does, it doesn't matter who is playing down there, they're going to kick goals. Even Chris Tarrant could!
Well i agree about the Interstate part

I tend to disagree about the no chance against the Cats part. We onlt got done by 17pts last time and aything can happen in finals.
Anyhow enough of the Cats, the way we tackled on Sat night was second to none. Our boys will be looking to break the 15yr drought against the Eagles in the West, will be tough but the time is right i think.

Definately time is right! If you can't now, not sure when you will?! Just a matter of putting it in motion. You did tackle awesomely Saturday and must say hats off to your team
As much as I am the first to admit I am avidly against Collingwood razz I could not fault their performance and think this weeks game will be decided by less than a goal. Good luck mate, I can't say I'll be going for you, but if you get there, good on them!
I think pies should beat the eagles on friday night and if we do, i think if we can keep the pressure we aplyed to sydney we arent without a chance. The cats are far to strong all around the ground for any team. The pies would have to play at there best and hope the cats have an average day then we'd be in with a chance. But if the pies can beat the eagles i think we've done well, got further than alot of people thought or wanted us to and also got our young guys some finals experience. I might even stay home this friday night and give the pub the flick so i can watch the game.

Either way I'm happy; my dad is a Magpies supporter and I hate West Coast passionately, so I get to see my Cats play against one of them 
Anyways, this game should be open and shut. Eagles are going to be missing Judd, Cousins, Kerr, Rosa, Wirrpanda and possibly Hansen; that will really put a big dent in the Eagles midfield, which will be using lesser players like Priddis, Hurn, Selwood, Fletcher (if he returns from injury), Stenglein and even Chick and Embley, which will then weaken the backline and forward line.
Really the Maggies should shit it in, but Collingwood has been nothing if not frustratingly inconsistent. One thing they have is big game experience; even the younger players who have played most games this year will have played in ANZAC day, the Cats-Maggies game with 70,000 and a final against Sydney.
I reckon the Magpies will win, but not by much; Worsfold will have a few tricks for his old mentor.
A Magpies win would be great, as it would mean that at least 1 Victorian team has to make the GF, and bad because it means Collingwood has won another game and I have to listen to my Dad's shit all week

What I'd like to see is the eagles lead by 70+ points into the 4th, and their whole team as well as the pies snap some ankles, break some bones and get into the worlds largest melee that will hurt them for a long long time.. I dont know what I hate more, the pies, or the eagles.. never minded the eagles til I moved to Perth.. if my scenario doesnt happen then it's a win/win whichever way you look at it.. one of them will be gone, and the other will be taken out by the cats.. simple

That game and the game on Friday night between the Eagles and the Power was a great start to the Finals!
One thing Ive never understood is the pure hatred that Collingwood inspires in people? I hate the Eagles cos they beat the Catters twice in 3 years in Grand Finals (when I was 7 and 9) and because Cousins is the most up himself person in the world...

Lining up for GF tickets!
I think everyone is too quick to let the eagles go. They lost to port at home by three points!!! without kerr, cousins for most of the game, hansen and judd is useless (never thought id say that!). They get back hansen this week, drop judd and get someone who can run and chase. They are back at home, they are a good thing. I also think everyone is too quick to jump on the pies as well, it might be as simple as them matching up against the swans well and the swans being on the slide after a tough few years. Ill go as far to say that they might get thumped!. As much as id like to see the pies win i just dont think they can.

Lets not forget we beat the Swans twice, had they beat us once they would have finished in the top 4. I think once we knocked them out in the finals that when you can say that they were finished, but it was no fluke by the Pies they clearly have had the wood on the Swans for a couple of seasons now.
As for, we will get pumped, come on mate be a realist... if we happen to lose then it will be close. No Kerr, Cousins and Judd is just too much of a tough ask. It will still be tough for the Pies but i think we can do it.

The Eagles in my opinion strayed from a great plan and decent prbgress with thier team when Cousins was written off early in the season...the distraction that was or is Cousins, is where the Eagles have faltered as the season has progressed.
Being a Magpies fan in Perth this week will continue to be an enjoyable experience, even more fulfilled on Friday evening when i sit in the outer and see a nice win....
And as is always the case, the clearly Eagles biased "Western Australian" newspaper will run a nice story on how the Eagles were robbed without the trio of stars...
For the sake of credibility for Worsfold i hope that Cousins is traded next season, for the comments made by Worsfold earlier this week to the effect of "No doubt Ben will have a good and solid career in the AFL for years to come" when asked about Cousins' future with the budgies.
I may be wrong and will happily acknowledge that, however i didnt think or feel that was the greatest endorsement that Cousins would be with the Eagles for the long term.
No doubt there will be those who are clearly one-eyed Eagles fans (including my wife) that will say i am full of shiat...however i think at times and comments like that seem to suggest some displeasure amongst the Eagles heirachey.

I THINK you will lose by 7 goals plus. Ill eat my words if you dont. Judd will get dropped, maybe it will come out that hes being 'rested' but he will want to play but they know they cant afford to keep him in the team.
