Just a few random thoughts.....
I am noticing a few elitist collectors on here, I guess guys people all want to trade with trrying to dictate a cards value.
I was told two nights ago that a Larry Hughes Ultimate Gold /25 should book around $40
But tonight had someone I'd just traded with suggest that by valueing a Vince Carter Dual Patch /3 in a trade at $80 I had maybe scammed him (keep in mind I paid $80 cash on the card) and that "he was told" that it'd be worth maybe $40 or so. (To which I replied, there are 2 more in the world then, I'll pay you $40 for one of them if you can find it!)
The theme in the threads seems to be, more people sell than trade.
Trading is a lost art, dictated by arbitrary values, and the fickle nature of collectors.
I personally am contemplating throwing the entire "trade file" on Ebay and just buying the last 2 or 3 bits for my PC, and leave the hobby again. Trading's starting to lose it's desire.
Can we all honestly say that we're here for the hobby, some just seem to be after a buck or two.
So I encourage responses, what motivates you, are you still trading, or is it drying in your neck of the woods too?
What's fair and what isn't?
