The postal service really has a lot to consider, like really screening their delivery people before hiring them, because Australia Post can sully reputations of buyers and sellers especially if not registered. If I am not sending registered I tend to keep the receipt with the postcode on it (If I am not using $1 stamps that is).
I've already gone through an experience that troubled me greatly because of the postal service, and I have had two packages I've sent standard mail not delivered - so I've thankfully been able to come up with some replacements - but I do echo the sentiments here, if its valuable - register it.

it would have been registered if speed wasn't a factor, we thought express was best as there is a tracking number and it is supposed to arrive in 1 day.
out of over 1,000 ebay sales and almost 100 oztrader trades only 2 of my packages have ever gone missing, both are to members on this board..................sorry to gemz and scotty:v:

Having been in the position myself where I was a buyer and the package never showed up - but I had only paid half and because the parcel was not shipped the way I requested IE registered or express I refused to pay the other half and was called a thief - was just jumping in is all Oh no I wasn't having a go mate LOL

Thanks... I just got that card today but after yesterdays mailday feel silly posting up a one card mailday so I am saving it for later, but wanted to show it off.
Hopefully you and gemz are able to get this situation sorted.
if it happens to me on an expensive card i'll be getting aus post up in the small claims court for failing to carry out their services with 'due care & skill' and see how long their 'we're not responsible for lost mail' argument holds up lol. not long me thinks.

It happens to me.. if u show evidence and enough paperwork, they said they will refund up to $50, but refunded me $57 (which the amount i lost)...
one time, the seller from US wrote 9.90 but didn't write dot carefully and looked like 990, so i got the envelope, not card... (can't believe someone thought people would send 990 worth of card unregistered?)
another time, same thing happened to me, express post box, someone just ripped it open and left the satchet near my mailbox.. i made a proper claim and i recieved full money.. (but was told they are not responsbile for lost mail if not registered about 7 times)...
This year alone i have lost about $700 worth off cards that have not shown up,3 packages in the last 2 month's have not shown up.
I have almost stopped trading becuase of it,Just getting real sick of it.
I sure hope that card show's up for you.

I've lost a fair bit too, mainly due to being ripped off on beckett (stopped trading there) and moronic rip off sellers on ebay (now i just pay with paypal only).

Ive only had 1 package lost and that was from AJ who sent replacement cards - So ive been lucky

Thats good mate,That AJ looked after you.
The thing is i won't let anybody send back or send replacement cards.I won't hold a trader accountable for OZ post's stuff up's,I just don't think that is fair.
2 blokes have wanted to send my cards back becuase mine did not show up,I won't let them.Thats just me though.
It's the postal service that should be held accountable,Not the person that sent the correct way & paid for that service.
