Would they just sell the Supremacy to SCC members ? It is the prime or number one AFL football card collectable imo. Let us debate this . Would it be fair just to allow the SCC members who I would think are predominantly collectors the right to all the product ? Even as a SCC member they could offer at least 2 boxes and the rest to the public. Or 1 box SCC but with a good discount and the rest to the public limit of 1 . With the card industry growth there will be people missing out . I do think though they need to up box numbers to satisfy more collectors in all releases now

I think 80 to 85 might be too high , perhaps 60 to 65 max for scc . Or as I suggested a more of a discount on one box but bring down allocation to say perhaps 40 %.

Not sure you might be correct on that one . I reckon that’s the set more aimed at the scc members . But I would not class that set as one of the most wanted sets it’s still a nice set though.

Wow bigger production has led to this plus people being much more careful with their money. Hopefully a bit of normality in the hobby again. SCC allocation has only grown each year though. It begun as strictly one box of each release and is seemingly ever increasing.

After what happened with Brilliance I suspect the only lever Select has left to pull to combat bots is to double down on SCC. Whether that means expanding the total membership and/or possibly creating tiers of membership moving forward I'm not sure.

I think that even though bots are an issue, the collector market has also increased quite a bit. I see a combination increase scc membership and as you say tiers, each one has different benefits. But a production increase in some releases.
The higher end product releases are the difficult one. Everyone wants them. Collectors want them as they are the top line cards and some others want to profit from them. So increasing the production of these might not be feasible. Making the membership bigger and allocating 80 to 85% to members (predominantly collectors) may just be the answer. You do ostracise some actual collectors from the high end products, so they will only be able access these on the secondary markets at inflated prices. But we are talking the very high end . Series 2 releases I would increase so more people can access them.

Yeah I think tiers of membership makes sense as it would be a mistake to assume that every SCC member is willing to spend the same amount on each release. Some have the financial means and willingness to spend more than others. It's just the world we live in.

Take this release as an example. I'm sure there are SCC members who bought one, and some who bought six, and probably everything in between.

Series one and an expanded series two can bring in new collectors and an increased SCC membership count should see enough churn each year for enough new collectors to jump in if they feel inclined to do so.

I'm a little bit biased being an OG SCC member and collecting for half my life, but we also do need new collectors to keep propping up the hobby.

I don't mind the rush to order high end product. Bots and sneaker ***** can fro though.

Which brings me to another point is there enough room yet for another collector company ? We have this discussion everytime there is an upsurge in the hobby. I do think it is possible but it would have to be an already established company from overseas that perhaps would have 2 higher end sets per year. I don’t think a brand new company in Australia would be profitable enough to survive. It would give collectors more options as the high end limited products here sell out so fast and some don’t get access to them.
