2024 Elite NRL Official Thread

Just noticed that there in a increase in the price of individual packets this year.$10.50.🤔
If you have noticed on boxes of Elite over the past few years there is no longer Recomended retail Price so you can sell the product for what ever you wish if you choose ...Box prices have not changed from previous years ...

Very happy with Warriors LS sig Shaun Johnson, last signed for the club back in 2013.
Walsh sig I think will be the most sort after card of the set.
Some nice new subsets too.

Could be the SJ farewell card. Announcement coming on Thursday I hear. I doubt it will be to announce an extension. Maybe a podcast

I am surprised he has struggled so much this year. Last year he seemed to work out that with his loss of speed, he could ball play deep into the line and set up his outside men, his short kicking was on point also.

He has hasn't even been able to train since the early rounds. Playing without the training was a nightmare on field for the team. His and Tohu Harris' bodies are absolutely poked.

National Sports Cards Convention commencement date in the US.

I suspect this is where TLA will announce a limited release of Elite into the US market.

Heard a few rumours something like this would happen...... think it may be something like a limited priority release distributed by an American company but with the additional content based on the Vegas games earlier in the year.

Interesting to see how its received and how much ends up back here.

Led to believe there may also be a different sell sheet for it as well.

I just wanna understand this whole ‘team master set’ thing, the flyer says there is one card per team that lets you redeem every card for that team in that set, i get that, and from what I’ve learned lately im assuming they are the cards stamped ‘MS1 of 5’ or something similar, is that correct?

What about the other 4 sets? Ive noticed Gold Coast Trading Cards have a heap on their website which i think are stamped 3 of 5, do they get automatically allocated that number and do they buy them from TLA?

Who gets the other 3 sets?

And do we take into account that there is actually 10 Mojo Diamonds in the wild because of this, not the doubly-elusive 5 that is advertised? Obviously only 5 are in packets.

It is a bit confusing.

I believe the 4 remaining master sets get offered to the biggest resellers of the product (Diggaz and GCTC). They then split them into team sets and sell them off.

As these zit outside of the production run, they don’t tend to affect the prices of the standard numbered versions.

I have rarely seen single MS inserts for sale but when I have, they go cheaper.

What started happening was TLA started selling master sets to collectors or dealers who had the opportunity to buy them.

Most dealers would then split up the teams and sell them with a view to make a profit on the sale of single teams.

My understanding is that these full sets could be bought for around $10K (may be the wrong figure but its not that far off it).

It was essentially money for nothing for TLA as it was a case of stamping left over cards (MS1/5, 2/5 etc...) and then turning that into $50K if all 5 sets were sold.

Later on they would keep one set aside and insert a redemption into Elite for each team which was the Golden Ticket.

Personally I'd rather have the pack pulled card than a card from a MasterSet, but if you want all your teams cards from the set for around the cost of a case (maybe a little more depending on team) and numbering doesn't matter to you, then its a quick way to fill your PC.

Cheers
Matt
