ShipMyCards - USA Address and Shipping Service

OK, so what do people do in terms of declared values for graded cards?

Is there a trick to it, do you generally split up your inventory into real costs, or just set every card, even graded slabs to $1?

How does Border Force determine real value of what you have in the parcels in terms of graded cards?

Especially as what you bought it for isn't necessarily it's real value...

I'm talking mid level costs of $200-$1000 cards.

I'm not sure what some of the higher end buyers here do, but for the only major shipment I have sent back to NZ (probably about $2,000 "value"), I just listed everything as $1. There is then a separate option to set an insurance value. I think I went $1000 which cost about $10 from hazy memory.

This was a few years ago now so some things may have changed.

Need to repost this... Any help much appreciated.

Another dumb question - how do you request a shipment quote? Is this still only a cards only option?

Anyone having login issues with SMC? It's been hanging at login screen for the last two weeks now. No matter what time of the day. Tried different browsers, phone pc and clearing the browser data.
If you're able to login, can you tell me what time in AEST and browser you used.
Thanks

Mine was slow logging in this morning.

Cleared the Cache in Google Chrome and refreshed the SMC page and it loaded up fine.

That was about 10am

Anyone shipped cases via them, what sort of shipping savings can you generally get with the lower declared values but the $20 handling fee's and arizona state tax??

Or is it better to just ship a case of wax via ebay direct to Aus for $170 + GST?

How much is the case?

I'd say it would be cheaper via SMC

Have to say I may have broken a SMC record!....... the cards/items were shipped on Wednesday (Aust Time) around 8:30 am and I have just received notification from Fedex that they will be arriving today before 6pm.

Can't fault that service!
It's getting to the shipping part that takes the most time!

Mine was 2-3 days max...... and part of it was my fault..... had to deposit a few more dollars in to cover shipping to release the package.

Wasn't a huge amount of items but still happy with the service.

Yeah trying to budget for how much postage will cost is the tough part.

I've just signed up. Which is the better location from a shipping turnaround point of view? Arizona or Oregon? Also, what you people recommend as an initial credit transfer? Only looking to get singles from US sellers and not looking at long term holds or express shipping. Appreciate any advice here! thanks.

You have to factor in tax and size of items.

  • You pay more tax to ship to Arizona, but the receiving fees are cheaper and the turnaround is faster.
  • You pay no tax to ship to Oregon, but the receiving and forwarding fees are higher and the turnaround is longer.
  • If you buy off marketplace/fb in states, just send to Arizona.
Places that charge tax, usually under 50USD is best to send to Arizona. Anything over 50 is best to go to Oregon.

I check the postage to Oregon + Receiving Fees. Lots of time, its cheaper to send to Oregon so I post there but you have to factor in size.

If you want to send huge items to Oregon, you need to let them know first.
