won this card on the bay yesterday,and seller states that the shipping cost was $16.95 US for 1 card,so i sent him a email saying that was there any chance that he could lower the shipping,that to have a look of what my other card buys have charge,i was nice about it all,and he says this?

here is the breakdown:

there have been a hike in post office prices so the best i can do for you is $14. the mailing cost $10.10 (first class international) +$1.05 (certificate of mailing, i require this as proof that i mailed it) plus $1.75 for the bubble wrap envelope. that is a total of $12.90. i am also including a $1.10 for handling ( i have to drive to the post office) grand total of $14.00. this is the best i can do to insure safe delivery of your package. i have 100% positive feedback as a seller and i have mailed around the world with buyers having no problem with my shipping charges. 100% of them recieved their package and are happy.

i can't go lower than this. you can check the rates at usps.com yourself.

Tell the guy this.

Shipping Calculators are ALWAYS wrong to Australia. First Class international costs $0.90-$2.00 MAXIMUM. This was even confirmed to me by a selkler yesterday whom was charging the calculator price of $10.10, and he went to post office to check my info and came back saying 'I'll njow charge you $2.00 shipping cause you were right'. Global Priority now costs ~$12 (with seller handling) so do not pay anything near what he is quoting for simple shipping.

Exactly as above. I tell people this alot. Tell him nicely as he seems to be reasonable so far about the calculator's being ALWAYS wrong. Tell him it's a known fact on the forum you frequent from people both sides of the world. Offer to pay him his costs up front, as long as he gives you the part refund on shipping if it does in fact cost what you are recommending it costs ( a few bucks). Generally, the seller will agree with you. I use this a bit and it seems to work well.

Also when using the calculator he should use envelope instead of parcel which is what a small bubble mailer is considered.

At first I'd have told them to stick it, but it you're getting a bargain, I'd take it mate.

If the same card could be had for a few bucks difference, I'd think carefully, but would probably tell them to keep it.

He got the card for $70 from $99, cept for the same card Sixers/Wizards (including Arenas, Jamison, Iverson etc. I bought it for $35, so prob not a huge bargin for the card in the end, despite taking money off the BIN

i got him down to $8 for shipping,so i had a win,dunno if i got a bargain,but its a rare card,doesnt come up to often,and will look good in my pc
