How Times Have Changed !

it's a bit hard to trade here... haha..

anyway, i mainly like to buy here if the price is right... and i really like many members here...

the truth is, i generally got free stuff from members and i like giving free stuff.... we have mods who are doing a great job here too.. so, for me, this is a great place to hang out......

Wolvey - u know I have one waiting for u!!

I've always found it difficult to trade here cos of my huge hiatus from collecting meaning I basically have nothing but KG and a few Amare's to trade with. This has led to me basically asking to buy/sell all the time which isn't ideal but I've found everyone to be very responsive, well mannered and understanding. I've been a member for a year and only completed my 10th trade last month!!

Despite that, this is one of the first websites I visit every day cos of the characters, sense of humour etc that u don't get on other sites.

That's right, waiting for tax time :D

While I'm one all for helping people, and I'll quite often trade for "trade bait", rather than a Harris.

But I will say that unless there is something that really is of a benefit to trading, sometimes, it's really not worth the hassle, unless of course I had a 1/1 or something that someone wanted, I'd definately help them out.

I don't believe in holding cards on people who truely would appreciate it instead of me.

I personally trade for PC, i have tried trading for trade bait but can end up with lots of trade bait and no trades. If i have something that someone wants i generally will hold it for them or offer them to buy it.
Some people dont have much to offer for trade and that can make things very difficult ( i had this problem when i first joined up) so i went and bought cards to trade with, this really helped me boost my trades.

The way I see it, from my experience of course, is that a lot of player collectors seem to think that the person who has cards they need should just give them up cheaply, purely because they aren't of as much value to the other person who doesn't collect that player.

If someone collects a player I have a card of, generally I'd prefer them to get it. But I shouldn't feel obligated for them to get it, especially where it will cost me time or money to do so. There are some collectors on here who are great with regards to offers for cards they need... They make a good solid offer, generally slightly more than ebay, I'll accept it, and everyone is happy. They get their card, I get the money it's worth and the satisfaction of knowing the card is now with someone who appreciates it more than I do. There are others who seem to think it is owed to them that I make a loss with regards to my time and money, so they can get a card for their collection.

Simply put, if you want something you have to pay for it, so make a decent offer and there normally won't be a problem. Don't put someone who's trying to help you out in a situation where they have to turn you down, because they will feel bad about it, and no-one will get what they want.

Yeah this thread is pretty tame so far...

Firstly let me say that I have had some trades with wonderful people here :)
Al and I just did a trade without even knowing the BV!
I have got some free stuff and given away free stuff.

However there is something that really irritates me and another Kiwi.
Some people just won't trade with us cos postage is a few cents more to New Zealand. What is up with that?

Those same people are usually only trading if it benefits them so I just thought I would add that here.

That's a shame - I've never had that personally....

Great addition to the thread !
Some great point of views have been put on this thread so far.....some I don't agree with but not everyone sees eye to eye.

I hope you don't think that about me Bargey (In Bold above) I didn't think I was owed that Duhon card you told me about at all and I hope I didn't come across that way. I just couldn't see the point in making a $$$ offer on a card worth $1.80 BV (High I might add). Sometimes IT IS NOT ABOUT HAVING THE CARD, some cards (like the one in question) are exactly the same as 5 other cards but might have a different colour and that's it - I just don't value those cards as much as others ! Parallels are Ok but when there are about 5 different versions of the same card it sort of de-values the cards worth to me.....add to that a very low beckett value (under $2.00) and I only really want to trade for something like that........I was not asking for it for free !
