Have you ever won a card, and then, hours later, you get an e-mail, telling you how much the card means to them etc etc and they want the card.

Then, they offer you $10.00 more.

Then, $20.00 more.

Then, a whole heap of auto's and game used for the card.

Then, they make a deal with the seller, and all they needs is your o.k!!!!

Then, when they finally get the point that no means no.

You get told not to bid on an item as they want it!!!

What the heck????

I got 2 messages like this as soon as I won the Baron Dvais logoman...got offered 20more then 50 more.... I replied that if I wanted to sell it I wouldn't of bid on it.=D>

Well, at first, I thought it was a sam or something!

I didn't, and politely told them, that I buy to keep, not to make a quick buck.
Also, if you wanted it so bad, you should have bid higher.

That would shit me.

I reckon its alright to ask them, many people buy stuff on eBay to sell it again later... but to be abused by a eBayer is bullshit, and they should be banned.

Come on Mike pls let me have the card, i will offer more, how about my car + my shaq rookie .... pls pls pls :woot:

Some people think that because they collect a certain player , that they have the right to have all there cards.

You see, it didn't orginally.

Until I got 5 messages in 2 days.

But the topper was, the nevr next card I bid on, that was special to him too. And in teh end, he didn't win it either.

Hit the nail on the head Ace.

If you want the card, bid more than anyone else does, and if you dont, then wait for another card to pop up.

lol if they were willing to pay 20 or 50 more then why the f*&$ didn't they bid more, pillocks! That's why it's called 'Max Bid'

Hey, I understand some of the anguish here. I understand that I'd be pissed if I received message after message, and even a message to NOT bid on something, rah rah rah.

But I've been in a position before where I won a card, and a day later, I got a message asking if I'd sell it for $20 more as they were unable to bid at the time. I told them that I was unable to rah rah rah, and they were cool.

I've even messaged a high bidder before, and offered them more too, simply because I was unable to bid on it, and the person who won, hadnt bid on any of these cards before.

I didnt pressure them, I just asked.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there are certain ways to ask these questions.

For those who keep at it, and don't let down, they're the ones you flame.

I don't get it, I mean it's a hobby, I'm not going to loose any sleep if I don't get such and such card, these people that do have bigger problems in their lives it seems (like maybe they need to get one?)

i think it's a scam.. coz if u really want the card, u would give the max..

for me, there's no card i want really so bad.. if i can't complete my project, i don't mind.. hobby is all about fun... if i don't enjoy it, i will not keep collecting for sure..

I agree whole heartedly. Never actually had a guy ask me personally, but I have asked a guy once because I had been watching a card for a day or so and working out what size max bid to put on but then my internet connection went down for 2 days and I missed the chance to bid!! So I kindly offered $30 for a card he won for $5 (Yes I overpay at time  ) and he declined, end of story.

Also agree with the Max bid thing! Like I mentioned above, I have been known to extreme overpay for a card that I really wanted (and don;t you know it Andrew! haha) but that's just the point, I have put a max bid on the card that I am pretty darn sure no one will go over, and in the end, if they do, good luck to them for wanting the card that much more than me that they were willing to overpay even greater than me!

But then I am talking Korver cards which generally don't go too high anywho...haha

thats not always right Linn...

Like Scotty said, sometimes there might be a reason why you missed bidding, work? or something....

I dont see a problem with asking once if they want to sell it, if they dont, then move on

Haven't had the pleasure of that happening yet, but I always like to ask a winner if, for example, the seller didn't ship overseas? or if the seller didn't accept paypal etc. But I would only ask once and if I really needed or wanted a rare card.
