i am thinking of opening a paypal account and was wondering which way to go,shall i just get a personal account or a premier account?

Personal accounts have no fees if someone pays you from an existing paypal balance, Premier accounts have fees on EVERY transaction.

I've stuck to the Personal account myself, my girlfriend has a Premier account I use for stuff like Ebay Immediate Payment Buy it Now Auctions.

if you have the personal account, the buyer must have the money in their paypal account as they can't pay via credit card. I am not sure if they can pay through their bank account though

Yes they can.

Basically a personal account will not allow you to accept credit card recaipts and limits the amount you can receive. But you are not charge for accepting cash.

Premier account you can receive credit card payment, but ALL Payments you get charged a fee.

So if you are not getting and money coming in and just paying, then go for the personal. If you are selling stuff and will be getting CC payments, then you need a Permier account.

If you do get a premier account, you can still get also a personal account to accept cash payment without being charged the fee. You just need another email account.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Ersk, I didn't know that

I receive CC payments on my Personal account but they don't go through until I click ok to manually receive them, the fee is then deducted.

Good info Ersk, I wasnt too aware of some of those things.

I'd personally go with a Premier Account, therefore, if you happen to pull something, and wish to sell it, you can accept whatever payment for it.

Saves having to hold off until you've upgraded....

Upgrading is instantaneous though...U get a message saying buying is trying to pay with credit card do u wish to upgrade and its done
