Hoo-bloody-ray....the nonsense might soon be over with!! News Limited are reporting that an MOU could be signed off on and announced as early as tomorrow. Cricket Australia must be very confident in that being the case, otherwise they would not have released the 201/18 BBL and WBBL fixtures...

The number of regular games has risen from 32 to 40 in the BBL, meaning that each team will now play ten games.

My thoughts exactly. As soon as I saw that was released, I thought they must be at a point where they were confident of a resolution - FINALLY.

Looking forward to another big summer of Cricket! Going to be a bust Dec / Jan period, games every few days in Sydney!
 
Cricket Australia have released the fixtures for the newly-named JLT One-Day Cup (not to be confused with Aussie Rules' JLT Community Series) and the Sheffield Shield.

Domestic one-dayers will be played in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, with the finals to be held in Hobart.

There will be just the one round of day-night Shield fixtures - the first round - with those games to be held at the Gabba, Adelaide Oval and the WACA. Victoria also finally have a secondary ground when the MCG is unavailable, with Junction Oval to host one game in the home-and-away rounds.

By my count there will be 39 days of cricket to watch at the WACA this summer, plus the ODI at the new stadium. Summer can't come quick enough!!

The most important question from all of this: what the hell happens to the "Grill on the Hill"? Oh how I loved every channel Nine commentator banging on about the Matador Barbecues Grill on the Hill. How many snags they ate yesterday, what sort of barbecue they have at home..."oh look, there's Tubby lining up...geez, there'll be none left for us! Ha ha haaaaa"

Thank Christ the domestic 50 over competition has a new, non-edible sponsor!! :-)

In all honesty though, I do love watching domestic cricket on tele!

Sadly I'm pretty sure Channel 9 aren't showing the domestic one-dayers this season :(
 
Well, a lifetime has seemingly passed since Australia last played Test cricket (it was five months ago!) but happily this aftenoon the Baggy Green Brigade are back in action. I think that this series against Bangladesh will be brilliant - their spinners can definitely do damage. It is interesting to note that Australia will play six left handed batsmen.

The line-up: Warner, Renshaw, Khawaja, Smith, Handscomb, Maxwell, Wade, Agar, Cummins, Lyon, Hazlewood. I look at this team and see vulnerability in the batting: Renshaw, Handscomb, Maxwell and Wade remain "hit and miss" for mine and are ripe for the picking.

We might be thankful that this is only a two game series!!
