Just cracked a box of Aficionado. Some nice hits and a couple of good rookie cards. Overall super happy with the box. Only complaint is the holgram material used on the base cards sticks to the back of the previous card on occasion.

I like the Aficionado stuff, not bad!

Yes i like it. I've been buying a box or 2 of different brands just to see what I like until I find something I really like to collect and so far these are up there.

I also opened a couple packets of 16/17 Revolution but the flashy sparkly stuff is a bit over the top for me.

Its hard to know what to expect from a box after being out of the game for so long but I was quite impressed with the number of rookie cards, and I like the jersey card.

Do you mind if I ask what you hit in the revolution?

I should add if you have any ideas for a box around the $100-150 price range and keeping in mind the flashy Revolution stuff is a bit much for me I'd be happy to hear it.

Im also going to jump in on a few box breaks in the hope the greater variety peaks my interest.

What is your main aim of breaking? Are you looking get a big hit, return on investment or are you just looking for cards for yourself that look nice?

Cards that look nice. I also like the idea of collecting rookie sets, and im a Spurs fan so any team stuff (which im sure most have). Also any boxes that contain throwback stuff. Im a massive David Robinson fan with over 300 of his cards from early and mid 90s so if i could add to that it would be great too.

Being able to sell off some of those i don't need to fund more boxed would also help but isn't a necessity.

Big broad list there i know :)

Studio and aficionado look nice but I can't see them holding much value, Revolution has a bit of value with the rare autos and galactics. Donruss has next day rookie autos which are always nice, and court kings is very cool looking. If it were me I would break revolution but each to their own :)

Thanks for the advice. Being new (returned) to the hobby I'll take all the advice I can get

I love Revolution!

Check out some of these in the 100-200 range. The Totally Certified usually goes good

Yeah i guess coming from that old school late 80s early-mid 90s background (where the cards were pretty much just a photo) the sparkly Revolution just seems really out there to me. I'll buy a few more packs maybe it'll grow on me.

I also tried the Complete which seemed too bland and the Hoops as posted previously. I don't mind the Hoops and have brought another box in the hope I can finish the base set (need 18 cards) and maybe hit a few nice inserts etc. But once thats done I'd like to move on to something in the mid-tier range.

Thanks for the help.
