In the last couple of weeks I've been travelling all over the countryside playing tour guide for a friend from NY who listed amongst their top 'must see attractions' a Pink Lake (Dimboola) and the Blue Lake (Mt Gambier) so I thought it fitting to see what Lakers cards I had lying around which had yet to be scanned and whack together a mailday...

So without further ado here are the men in the fabled purple and gold...

Magic Prizm and Point Men - Love the Point Men set, might pick them up seeing as I already have the Curry

Swaggy P Prizm - sooooo much swag!

Larry Nance Prizm RC - Dunk of the year? Has the hops like his old man did...

D'Angelo Russell Clear Vision RC - really under-rated product imo. I love E-X and this offering is just as good. Great looking base but the lack of auto hits and content means it's not a hobby favourite though....

J West Purple Prizm Die Cut - Would have preferred an older school card type forthe old school players, but I won't lie - that purpel colour was made for Lakers cards!

Lin Clear Cloth GU - Linsane in the membrane! BIg fan of all things acetate - even GU!

AC Green Black Box Elite Flag auto - This guy is an absolute legend, iron man amngst iron men. Real blue collar had hat guy. Funny thing was on the showtime Lakers his devout ways were always being challenged by the guys who liked to er, 'party'. Make for some interesting reading if you have a chance!

Rambis Select auto and Spectra GU / auto (on card) - I can sympathise with this guy having had to play sports in the plain old glass frames, go the Goggs!

Magic All Rookie Team w/ Joe Alexander - HInt: One fo these guys didn't achieve much after their rookie year....or even in their rookie year for that matter.

Magic Sweet Shot GU auto - Hellz yeah, what a card! Great action pic with the purple and gold swatches - doesn't get much better than that!

Well that's all for now folks! Thansk for stopping by and having a look and possibly a read. Comments and likes always most appreciated.

...and a Merry Christmas to all!

Love the Magic 3 point shot.
I second this motion.

Thanks fellas, coming from two guys with a great eye for cards and design that means a lot!

sweet laker mailday and yeah that last card is a beauty!

I'm actually not a big Laker fan but I can appreciate their good players!

Love the mailday as always Skip and I agree that Clear Vision is a sneaky cool looking set

Clear Vision could be the set everyone forgot to give some hobby love when they had the chance! Acetate ftw!

Ah, the Blue Lake man himself! Ironically, Magic was always known to be a subpar three point shooter!!!!

Hence the local team here bears its name, the Lakers here are actually resembling something of the 80's showtime version with their winning capabilities. Good to see you got some time in God's country, seeing I spent my first 27 yrs in Whyalla anything is God's country after that!

The team from the mount better have 'blue lakers jerseys'! Mt Gambier is always pretty nice, Whyalla, not so much - and unfortunately a very bleak future up there too by the sounds of things.

Navy and Gold! They are more your local league, the Mount Gambier Pioneers are the real deal! Playing the SEABL they have won the last 4 South Conference Titles and 2 National Champs in that time. I work for them as chief writer doing match reports for their Facebook page and website. I got out of Whyalla before everything hit the fan but the writing was on the wall for a long time before then. The Steelers are the local team up there but for who knows how long that name will last. Hopefully the govt gets their act together for the sake of many mates without jobs.

Blue Lake, Pink Lake, hope your heading north for the Salt Lake.

The cardboard on display was mighty fine as well.

Plenty of great lake-show additions. I totally agree with the Clear vision cards! I've been nabbing the odd rookie hear as they are super nice and also cheap.

nice lakers

Not a patch on your magical mailday - but thansk for the kind words!

Never been to Lake Eyre, but that has to be on the bucket list after the place has had some rain...
