I understand what you are saying but with the nature of the hobby aptly named "trading cards" and as a result these cards changing hands a lot I wouldn't expect the winner to have to produce the card and I don't recall seeing that as part of the conditions of entry.

From what I have heard from some people is the cards they bought had already been redeemed and to be honest I don't really see it as a problem? If I or a hobbyist busted a card from a box or case I bought should I not redeem / register it? That said though I would expect commercial traders not to have redeemed the card as they are almost always on selling it.

I'll disagree on one point, I don't believe these cards, at least in the first few months, change hands "a lot". More like once when someone who doesn't want it (for whatever reason: not their team/player, making a profit, etc) sells to someone who does want it.

Personally though, when the card gets sold, so do the "rights"/benefits of that card. An analogy: you buy a lotto ticket and give it as a present. The ticket wins. Do you get to claim it? Hell no. Why should a person who Registers a card only to onsell it get any further benefit from it? They CHOSE to trade/sell it. I do have an issue with that.

From what I've heard (and from personal experience in acquiring a Redeemed card, which I now can't even get the code info for), there have been sellers (NRL and AFL) who have posted the front and back of redeemed cards, with codes clearly visible (no comment on the "smartness" of that), only to find out that they can not Register them because someone else has used the images to do it before them. That's effectively theft.

To me it's a problem that needs to be addressed for similar future promotions - and don't get me wrong, it is/was a GREAT idea!

PS: re the Registration process, it seemed I could only get 3 or 4 done a day, then the submit button would simply not work. Took me 3 or 4 days, Registering less than a handful at a time.

I disagree strongly as i know for a fact that heaps and heaps of the jersey patch and jersey patch signature cards changed hands on a number of times. And "Yes" some single cards more than once,K

Yep Mike what your saying is true and I see your point clearly I was playing a bit of devils advocate but I would suggest it's probably not theft just unethical.

Like Katrina my impression is that the majority of cards will swap hands quickly as these days there does not seem to be many master set collectors mainly team and player collectors therefor when someone busts a card from another team they will on sell it asap to get the best price because with ESP the cards seem to loose value after the initial release and if you look at the sales threads here and on Ebay I'm sure the stats would back this up.

Playing devils advocate again I would also suggest the sellers who showed the code are as you say dumb or perhaps in reality smarter than you think in that they registered the card themselves and then say oops I didn't realise it must have been someone who saw the code.

The way to prevent this and to be fair is to include it in the release in a packet rather than have these "after thoughts" or "special competitions" that the majority of collectors know nothing about. On second thoughts this would probably also not be fair due to what seems to be evident with stacked cases and preferred sellers advantages.

The majority of cards i entered were won in breaks for some reason 1 i could not register after several attempts.
It was only after reading this thread a thought came to mind that most video box breaks are public so most will know were im going with this !

You only get the code once the card is redeemed, when I had this problem I worked out that if I closed down the page then opened it again in a new window I was able to enter one more code then repeat for each new code

A reminder to everyone from ESP/TLA, this competition closes at the end of October!!!

To celebrate the launch of Code for Collectors

TLA and Futera are rexcited to reveal a 5th NRL Elite 2016 1/1 card, this very special card featured 4 match worn jersey patches, 4 players images and corrasponding states on the back of the card as well as the NRL Hologram.

TLA and Futera are giving this card away free!!! The registration process is simple, an automaticly generated reigistration form will be sent to collectors via the Code for Collectors website, each time you register a card a form will be generated. All collectors who register their Elite 2016 jersey patch cards on the Code for Collectors website before 12pm (AEST) on October 31st 2016 and complete the email registration form inlcuding providing in 25 words or less ‘why this card should be included into your collection’ will have a chance of securing this card, T&C’s apply. TLA and Futera will jointly annouce the lucky collectors name on the 1st fo November at a time to be advised.

An image of the card is below. We will now upated the checklist with the additon of this card to the release.

We hope you can help us spread word of this great offer to your members, the more cards that are registred by the closing date, the more chances collectors will have to secure what I am sure will be a highly prized card.

That's BS. November 1 has come and gone. If this was going to be the case why wasn't it stated in the release about the draw for the card. If they're going to do a draw stick by the info given don't go changing it ad hock.

I was going to say the exact same thing. What a load of BS. Its a "competition" and it also states after November 1st the winner will be announced? Even Dynamic Marketing had the same process with competitions announcing the winners via news letters etc etc. I don't want the winning card but it would be great to know who won it. K
