Less then a month away from the draft.

I'm excited, and I'm hoping to make the trip up to Sydney for the draft...

What do you guys think of the top prospects? Who do you want your team to draft?

BTW, here's the order of the top 10 of the draft at the moment:

1. Essendon Bombers
2. GWS Giants (from Brisbane)
3. Brisbane Lions (from Fremantle via GWS)
4. Gold Coast Suns
5. Carlton Blues
6. Gold Coast Suns (from Richmond)
7. Fremantle Dockers (from Collingwood via GWS)
8. Gold Coast Suns (from Melbourne)
9. Sydney Swans (from Port Adelaide)
10. Gold Coast Suns (from St Kilda via Hawthorn)

I reckon:

1. Mccluggage
2. McGrath
3. Ainsworth

After that I have no idea lol
You have no idea who's going where after 3; I have a whole first round mock draft done lol

Oh, and my condolences to your wallet. GC are winning this draft easily, you're gonna have to buy a lot of Future Force sigs

Here's my current first round mock draft @drama5
I tried to correctly get what the teams would lose if they bid for certain players into this mock draft; hopefully I'm correct lol

Nice prediction mate, man I hope Ainsworth falls to Gold Coast would be stoked to get him but can't see Brisbane overlooking him tbh

Brisbane aren't getting him IMO.

I think Brisbane get one of Brodie, Petrovski-Seton or McCluggage (in the rare case that Essendon pick McGrath, and GWS pick somebody else, which would be likely)

out of interest why do you think this? as from what I have heard ainsworth is exactly what Brisbane need and they have big wraps on him. But honestly I havnt followed as strongly this year so more interested in hearing your reasoning as im sure you know more than me. BUt hopefully this does happen as I rate ainsworth highly.

I think that Brisbane won't want to take a risk on him at 3, especially considering his position (don't Brissy have like 300 small forwards anyways?)
Will Brodie has been linked to the Lions all year long, and I think he goes there as Brisbane try to build an elite midfield team, which is what you need in the AFL nowadays

I think Gold Coast take a punt on him because... they have no reason not to.

Also, this years draft is on a Friday night;

IMO they should move it back to Thursday nights, and make a draft atmosphere similar to that in the US (if you think it's fine as it is, watch an NBA or NFL draft on YouTube. The experience is awesome)

I don't even know if he'll get drafted.
If he is, I don't think that he will be drafted by GWS
That could mean well there goes my 2016 FF collection considerations unlike there'll be a GWS draftee with a prospect of remaining a one-club league-footy player throughout career or at least an eventual GWS premiership player!

Will Setterfield will be a top 10 pick, maybe even #1 (I don't think he will be though). Harry Perriman will also go in he first round.

Both are Giants academy players

The AFL thinking of changing the way selections are announced to decrease the time of the draft:

Your thoughts guys?
I'd like to see the picks announced like in the NBA and NFL; Gil comes out and basically says "with the first pick in the AFL draft, the Essendon Bombers select Hugh McCluggage, Midfielder, North Ballarat Rebels", then the kid comes and gets his jersey and goes backstage. (And btw, the McCluggage selection was an example)

I also think that every kid drafted in the first round should get a team jersey, and maybe if the team isn't picking in the first round at all, the first pick that the club makes, the kid gets a jersey. Makes it more fun for everybody in the green room
