Wonder why eels are releasing all these players mid year now after being notified of being cap compliant.

Are we going to offer upgrades and extend deals with the $$$ being made available.

That will ensure we can re-sign Corey Norman.

Could it mean that by paying front loaded contracts that Jarryd will be back for 2017??

Saw that, wonder if he will be cleared to play next week?

Lots of depth in the Canberra forward pack now, I really don't know who misses out after the way Bateman has been going.

I heard Mitch Barnett will be a mid season transfer to Newcastle, he has loads of potential.

What did we think of the Austin try / no try. I think based on the on-field decision it had to be awarded
Yeah since it was a try on field decision and it didnt look like he fumbled it and i couldnt see any good reason not to award it.

Croker made some good metres and Wighton had another shocker, 70 minutes of the game were ordinary for him.

Canberra were lucky to get away with it really, dogs were better for 60 minutes. Lots of improvement needed yet.

Wighton had hands like feet last night but those two tackles on Perrett and then Tolman late in the first half (just prior to Crokers intercept) and the ball to put Lee into space which was the equalizer nearly made up for his fumbles.

Eels damn lucky.......

Dragons announced Tariq Sims as a signing for next 3 years, also rumour he might join mid year in a swap for Marketo and Matthews.

Sometimes you make your own luck in footy, we didn't have a lot go our way tonight losing Foran and taka through injuries.

At the end we had Edwards, Scott and mau defending on one side as half, back rower and centre.

We are a pretty gutsy footy side with all the stuff that's happened this year

If Newcastle weren't deprived of their SOO rep, they win last night.
We were minus Jennings as well and lost plenty through injury through out the game and didn't touch the ball for the first 15 mins in the second half. Credit should go to our defence for allowing only 2 penalty goals in that period

The Raiders have a really great lineup, right across the park, if they can iron out those rough edges as Sterlo observed and play solid for 80 they are real contenders. I was surprised Vaughan missed out on a spot tonight.

It is disappointing to see when they jumped out to the 30-6 lead that Sezer and Austin couldn't just shut the game down. At times it is hard for them as Hodgson is such a dominate player and when Baptiste comes on he jumps in as a third half. I think both Vaughan and Fensom have been carrying niggles and will be back in for Brisbane.

Paulo great with ball in hand, can be found out defensively like in the parcell try being caught at marker

Agreed. Around the ruck Canberra are and have always been very vulnerable, partly because they have always run out a massive pack and partly because they just allow the opposition to play the ball to quick.

When they were flogged by the Eels and Sharks in rounds 6 & 7 they were torn apart around the ruck.

As I said though, a win is a win and they were good for 60 minutes this week. If they can play for 80 they might stretch Brisbane.

They are a team on the improve and great depth, was impressed with Clay Priest.

Plenty to be excited about if your a Raiders fan.

I wouldn't be disappointed if anyone of Joseph, Joey or BJ Leilua made Origin

Agreed, plenty to be excited about.

I have watched a bit of Priest in the lower grades and always thought he had the potential to step up.

He is 26 so a bit of a late bloomer but is only on the second tier cap as he came from the Mounties.

I recall a NSW Cup game v Manly earlier this year where he came out of the line and smashed Mateo causing him to lose the ball.

Apparently Mateo threw out the old age sledge, 'I haven't even heard of you' and Buttriss replied on behalf of Priest, 'Don't worry, you will soon"
