The NBA Playoffs are in full swing and the NBA Finals are about to take maximum card attention to the likes of Lebron James, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love (the list does go on, but you get the drift).
This time of year is really good to focus on players who are either younger 1st or 2nd year players, or missed the playoffs entirely. A lot of collectors will focus on either selling their GSW or CLE cards with potential buyers being in a long queue.
What are some of your go to players to collect now while the torch is focussed elsewhere? I will go with my top 3 to kick it off.
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo - we already know he is a freak on the court and he has now had 3 solid years in the NBA. Give it a few more years and he could be anything. Nice graded RC's may be a solid investment.
2. Devin Booker - cards have cooled off a little since the season ended but all signs point to this sharpshooter being the next knock-down splash specialist.
3. Kristaps Porzingis - insane rookie season, is situated in a big market and Phil Jackson is in for the long haul. He has a plan and wants to centre it all around Kristaps. Give it a few months and some of his items may have cooled off. One to definitely have in the collection.
I will endeavour to pick up a few items in the off-season - should be fun!
