I still have a stack of cards lying around waiting to be scanned which includes not very many patches so I thought that being the lazy person I am I'd do the least amount of work possible - and scan in the handful of patches I have. Granmama' would be proud!

Danny Manning Blast from the Past patch /199 - he'll always be Mr Clipper to me!

Jarnell 'Pogo Stick' Stokes Excalibur patch ball auto /349 - love the thick juicy patch in this card but clearly isn't jersey material and the card doesn't tell us what it is either! Shame he didn't stick with the Grizz - he could have probably started fr them in the Playoffs! Same sorta player as Jamychal Green..........except better!

Elton Brand SP Threads Patch - Mr Double Double back in the day, you could bank on his productivity! Classic Clipper red, white and blue jersey pieces....

Kwame Brown / B Hawyood SPGU Authentic Fabrics dual patch /50 - One guy who makes Anthony Bennett look alright as far as #1 draft picks go and Brendan 'Jobber' Haywood. The patches are pretty schmick though, not too many multi-patches around these days plus how many times can you say your patch has a nice shade of some brown-ness to it?

Cedric Simmons UD Black quad patch /10 - There aren't many card designs that surpass the quintessential UD Black, just like there aren't many patches that outshine the old school New Orleans Pelicans patches! If the gold auto was on card this would be one of the sickest looking cards going around...

...and now to the Granmama' reference!

Larry Johnson Hardwood Homage auto /199 - Massive on card sig and a beautiful looking auto but am a bit pi55ed because the smudging happened in transit and the main reason I sprang on this card was because of the prsitine sig!

.......and finally a SP LJ.

ATF Silver auto #1/5 - ebay 1/1 to boot! Woo hoo! ...and draft numbered 1/1??? Double ebay 1/1! Winning! :-P

Well that's it for now, thanks for stopping by and having a look, read and if you're in the select few 10% or so, kudos for leaving a comment - which I'm pre-empting is a good one!

Cheers

Nothing better than beating ebay and getting a double ebay 1/1 :worthy:

The signature on the LJ Hardwood Homage still looks like a ripper! Sweet additions Skip =D>

Some nice cards skip. Good to see you still haven't gotten around to scanning some cards.... That's been going on since 2009.
Love the patches.

Been a while since we last saw you on these forums! Thanks for applauding the double ebay 1/1!

Love the patches.

Circa 2008 actually - heh heh I probably have a mint Derrick Rose sitting at the bottom of one of these piles pulled pack fresh writing to be scanned...

Crazy patches on that Quad Black :woot:

Multiple breaks and multiple colours - those old Hornets patches rock!

Love the LJ's skip

Thanks mate, young bloods here need to know that before there was Uncle Drew there was Granmama!

Awesome patches, and love everything about that LJ Homage auto.

......apart from the smudge, although I guess it does add 'character'?!

That Black quad patch auto is Outstanding!

What I like best is it's not one big piece divvied up into four pieces, it's four distinct patches with unique colours and patterns as befits such a SP #d card.

Granmama brought the suspense for those last cards ;)

Granmama always delivers!

LJ has a really nice auto. Sweet pick ups skip.

Those early 90s Hornets team with Zo and Muggsy were what 90s basketball was based on!

Sorry guys, couldn't resist!!!!!!!!

I had a pair of those and the converse big reds hahaha blast from the past!!

I remember Converse used to a major player in the shoe market, especially basketball - I wonder how they fell off the pace and lost the plot so quickly........

As always very entertaining :)
I remember owning one of these cards and thought they were the coolest thing ever.

Good old Front Row - I still think that card would be pretty cool to have!

LJ was a beast, he was explosive in Charlotte and then became more of a outside shooter in NY. Love the Grandmamas.

His back injuries robbed him of all that explosiveness, basically became an oversized SF in NY - I only care to remember the Hornets version!

LJ was my first collecting crush. Had PMG red, Flair 1/1, the works......
Awesome they still make cards of him.

He was KG before there was KG! Sounds like you had quite the Granmama PC going on there for a while....

I really did - 550 different cards. Some would sell for plenty now - I sold them to Patrick LJBiggestFan and he got me my first KG #21/100 card as part of the deal, and away I went!

Would be an interesting process to see who did better out of that deal with the benefit of hindsight. Still, without that Granmama sale we may never have seen the #21 KG PC!

Looking back probably Patrick. But on the other side of the coin, he's my best collecting mate, he shouted me a white water rafting trip last year as well as a jet boat ride when he visited NZ.
The best thing has been a 10 year friendship that will last :-)
