Yep way overs if true. I would seriously be shocked though, Sezer is only on 500k per season and he was a marquee signing. The way I read the article on the Raiders fan forum was 750k over two years and even then I think that is overs. He has size and potential but hasn't done anything significant in the game really
 
Canberra's depth is now ridiculous. Tapine and Barnett are ready for regular first grade, looked like men v boys when they ran in NSW Cup last week. I want the club to resign Soliola but don't know where all these players will fit
 
Lima is only on a one year deal. I would imagine that Paulo will be the 4th prop, Hodgson will eventually be an 80 minute player which will bring one of Barnett or Tapine onto the bench.

Yep always a positive. No clubs like losing good young players but it happens. Canberra lost Milf who is already a superstar but gained Austin and Sezer

I'm not sorry to see RFM go personally, but it seems Lane has some shortcomings as well. It is very rare to see a swap actually work out
 
We have to remember that's it's no longer 1986 when we all used to look after our mates but it's the 21st Century where it's now a business, Lane was a Junior who has been cast aside in a business transaction where 30 years ago you kept him for a few years hoping he'd come good, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose but not too many people care about the NSWRL Cup, it's all big end of town stuff.

maybe he is just not good enough, not that the clubs don't care, as you said it is a business, some clubs choose to buy a premiership like manly and Easts did in the seventies and eighties, brisbane just took all the talent Qld had to offer.
Now it is big business, if your not good enough to cut it, then you are history so to speak.
Some people suffer injurys and look at it, do I want to be a cripple when you are 35-40.
I fitted into that category in 1987 when I played in the southern comp.
 
With the news that the NRL is putting up the Knights for auction of 10-20 mil I look forward to an eBay listing with a starting price of 10 mil and a buy it now price of 20 mil
 
It seems as though they are valuing an NRL license at about 10 Million.

I like the Green Bay model its an amazing story, one of the small things out of it is the beer and food is a lot cheaper at the games. However I guarantee the NRL wouldn't allow it happen as the NFL isn't proud of it and have moved to ensure it can never happen again. They might allow a public listed company to sell shares but certainly not a non profit organisation.

That said, I say the same about Gold Coast too.

And I want a 2Nd Brisbane and Nz team and a Perth team too.
