2007 AFL Premiership season official thread.

What I should add though.... is Travis Johnstone may be a great player but I would NOT EVER EVER want him on my team. He is a good news player only... he only works hard.... when his team is up.... he is way to lazy and soft when his team is down. I think it's about time he played in the magoos.... teach him some work ethic. He needs to get a little Glenn Archer in him... go hard no matter what!

Hardly got a word out of you last week when the Hawks were pumped !
Your not a fairweather supporter are you AJ ?
 Just kidding !

Another CRAP week for my tips, I am no chance at winning this Jackpot..........I'll have to hope the winner leaves me a few cards for my troubles

Gees....Aj....thats a massive call....Have you even see Travis play besides today. If not, you must have been able to tell by the commentators surprise of his game that he rarely plays this way.....

But now that you mention it....and if you want to look at it that way....the Hawks team is a bit like that. Proven by their 2 goals in 3 quarters last week ;)

Well I watched the game and I never turned it off. A fairweather supporter leaves at 3 quarter time of a drubbing, I would never do that. There was just nothing to say, we were forced into playing crap football by some good Brisbane tactics, and once we went in our shells last week we chipped it around too much.... when a defender gets 30+ possessions and 19 uncontested marks (Jacobs) its a bit disturbing.

All I could do was hope we would turn it around. So far so good, but only time will tell how much progress we have really made.

I watch lots of football, and I watch Melbourne games because I like watching them play.... and I have noticed a trend but today it was glaringly obvious... I hope it was an abberation at how bad he was... but I have still seen a trend with regards to only playing hard when Melbourne have been winning. Perhaps he is a team barometer.

As for Hawthorn.... at least they fought back to kick four goals in the last and not give up last week... they were forced into bad play and just got into negative frameset.... they turned it around. Perhaps Travis can too.

Finger crossed ;)

hmmm typo or you giving me the bird benny? LOL

I'm sure Travis will turn it around, he is classy... and every one has dog days... I just wanna see him go in hard no matter the scoreboard... thats all!

Because it is not as if Melbourne gets pumped very often... they are a competitive team so there is no reason any player on that team should EVER go into their shells. That's just my opinion.

Did you notice my Just Kidding comment? That usually means I was just kidding

full credit to Hawthorne in a lack lusture game they over ran a injury depleted melbourne side. I cant honestly remember seeing robbo and neita both injured in the same game, that is not a good sign. First 2 rounds we have been forced to play 2 players short for 40+ minutes game time, i say bring in Lethal's 6 player bench solution. ;)
I was dissapointed at our 2nd and 3rd quarter, to me it looked like De juvu' from round 1.
we will bounce back, we never start well anyway, 0-4 last year and we came close to a top 4 spot. It happens every year couple rounds in heads are turned and immediatly teams that lose are written off. Freo and Melbourne when they get their act together they will make their run.
Hopefully soon :p

I've said it once, I'll say it again... NO e on the end of Hawthorn!

Doesn't sound like you are giving full credit you are blaming the injuries... fact is... even if neitz had been on the ground, it didn't go forward very often in the second and third quarters for him to make much of a difference. I know players would get tired, but, I've seen Hawthorn win with only one fit man on the bench so in modern football it cannot be used as an excuse. Hawthorn played well for once, they executed instead of fumbling all over the place like usual. They dominated Melbourne for two quarters and it was enough to win.

48pts down at one point in the second qtr and the blues come back to steal 4 premiership points from essendon. mind you though, essendon had plenty of chances to finish the game off before half time. great win blue boys. 2/5 in tipping this round but i dont care, blues won!

Cant beleive the blues won and i also expected Adelaide to win. I have picked the Dees, Sydney & Hawthorn today...

Saints also an upset. Doggies are looking a bit shaky at the moment

I didn't think the Saints were an upset win.....I don't think MLB will win today either Ben - A lot of injuries to key Forwards !

Then again I have 2 from 5 so I SUCK at Tipping

PS - Who is Hawthorn....did you mean Hawthorne

Hawthorn is the 10th team to win two games this year, two in a row and showed some steel to fight out of the defensive play Kangaroos forced them to play early on.

Hawthorn is the team that gave me 6 outta 8 this week :D

Great Job Hawks... and damn Ben McGlynn is gonna be a gun!
