Comments would be appreciated ... I'll post a my very cool mailday shortly, but it has been dampened by the fact I think this is a fake ... I'm thinking I need to do my homework better ... LMK what you all think:

from other TP autos though, its pretty close, plus its on a sticker?

though it might be one of those fleer auctions cards?

Looks very fake to me, no implications of it being an auto. But if it's on a sticker? Maybe the guy took it off a real auto'd card?

ITs deffinately Parkers auto, i seem to keep pulling his autos from boxes, not sure whether the sticker has been pulled from another card tho???

Thanks everyone. Confirmed what I thought: a GOOD fake.

Alarm bells rang when I tried valuing it through Beckett and found there are no autos in those series of cards!!!

You feel like a real dumb-ass when you get taken by those things!!! #-o It was from ebay seller "bvonraschke" who I've gotten some great (legit) cards from - I'll assume he was unaware too, eh??

Paid $US20.25 (incl. shipping) for total transaction and got this as well, so it is not all bad; reckon I can peel the sticker of the TP and I've got a perfectly good TP rookie, as well:

I've seen this seller selling stuff on eBay too. From what I've seen, most of his cards are former Fleer items (from the Auctions). Although not exactly sure how the sticker would've been added, unless Fleer had some sticker sheets and just placed them on the player cards as redemption autos.

I'd definitely recommend adding him to a list of eBay sellers to avoid.

Were there any redemptions from that series of cards??? It's a reasonable explanation considering what Trey and Mattyj were saying??? Do any of the grading companies authenticate things like that???

Through my miraculous stupidity (don't even go there!) , not only did I win more auctions from this seller, again, but I won ANOTHER of the cards in question on this post. So I decided to send a question to bvonraschke (the seller):

Hi,

Have just received the above card from you in good order. Thank you for that. But, I have a query. I have just gone to get a value on it from Beckett and found that there was no Tony Parker autograph in that series, that year. Just interested to know where it came from and how they came to be??

Cheers
Matt

The reply follows:

"HI THIS CARD WAS PURCHASED AT THE FLEER CLOSING AUCTION IN NEW JERSEY ON SEPT 9TH,2005. IT WAS NEVER INSERTED IN PACKS BY FLEER. TY"

My question to the ozcards experts ---> is this a likely explanation; would this add value to the card and would someone like PSA or Beckett be able to authenticate this???

Thanks everyone.

Remember I posted about a sheet of Danny Ainge auto stickers that Fleer was auctioning off?? Plenty of sticker autos on sheets were available. That and half cut up jerseys for those wanting to improve patches on cards as well.

The fleer auctions shouldn't have gone ahead as they have currupted the hobby but to some they just represented a chance to get more $'s.

So it's obvious that the card is legit, the auto is legit, but there's no listed Auto card of that description. No probs.

Work out:
1 - The "normal" version costs

2 - A basic Auto of TP9

3 - Then consider if it's woth the $20 bucks you paid, and then

4 - Put it down as a TTM Auto, despite it not being one.

I'd keep it, and be happy about it.

Nothing to be overly upset about.

bvonraschke (the seller)

I bought my 04-05 Flair Alonzo Mourning Row 2 from this same seller, and while I have heard/read that Row 2 1/1's exist, this was the third or fourth he had listed and sold on Ebay, which backs up his end that he would have purchased alot of stuff from the Fleer auctions. And like Chad said, the Fleer auctions have made it tricky for some collectors on knowing whether some cards out there are legit or not.

It's still a Parker auto (technically a 1/1 ;)) and at least the seller was honest about it's origin.

There was a sheet of Elton Brand sticker autos from the Fleer Auctions on ebay not long ago.

Wish those auctions had never gone ahead!

Cheers
Matt
