15-16 NBA Draft and Pre- Season discussion

I still think the Wolves would be crazy if they passed on Okafor. Maybe Im biased because he's hometown, but I dont think there's another talent like him in this draft.

Highly interested in the day - sounds like you have a good setup for it though lol!
Really interested in new ways the analysts can come up with to say upside wingspan and motor

Would be the best drinking game - can't lose lol

Lol, I love the "this kid has a 10 foot wingspan so he's going to be a star" quotes from the "expert" commentators.

Anyone have any gut felling a on who might move on draft night? I think if the Knicks can't get who they want at 4 they may trade down. I also think the lakers may go for Russell, unless the wolves make a bone headed move and not take towns, a lot of talk about the kid porzingis moving up, the trouble is you never know what your getting, either a dirk or some kid who washes out of the league in 3 years, maybe the magic? But I think he will drop to the Kings, all the teams before then need to hit a can't miss this draft. I have a feeling the Magic will try to move up or failing that make a move with Boston.

i would be happy if Boston came out this draft with willie cauley- stein and Justin Anderson or Myles turner and Justin Anderson we been needing a rim protector for so long im so sick of waiting lol Myles or willie can fill that need ..while Anderson can give us solid d and 3 and high motor perfect fit next to smart... i think Lakers go for okafor , philli gets Russel and magic either going for porzingis or Winslow

I'm a huge fan of Okafor and really hope Lakers land him will actually be pretty devastated if they don't lol I 'd rather him over Towns!

What would the 76ers do if Towns goes 1 and LA take Russel at 2? Can they take another big, hearing that Embid might miss next season or atleast a desent chuck of it. So many questions. From a LA fans point of view i know Okafor is a great low post player but his D is a worry along with his FT shooting. I'd like to see LA pick Russel and sit him beside Clarkson and Kobe and try and go big in FA.

i been saying that to laker fans ..that most likely they go for russel he can even play the 2 sure prospect to carry the torch after kobe hangs the boots up.. i really don't see okafor and randle working together they both aren't rim protectors nor can they space the floor and shoot efficiently.. not trolling but who knows maybe byron scott makes it work ..hearing about embiid was such a shame philly just might go for porzingis as he can space the floor and shoot well for a big men .will fit next nerlens

We will know a lot more about embid come draft day by what Philly do, we have to remember they took that big fella last year but didn't come to the nba so might grab Russell but I have a feeling they will grab mudiay to replace mcw, the lakers should grab Russell, from watching him play he shows huge upside, and okafor and Randell are very similar, I think the Knicks have their eyes on 2 players and are hoping one drops, but if not they will trade down to about 8-9-10th and add assests plus draft a player their. Orlando will be the big shakers, would the Lakers trade down for harkless or Harris and a swap of picks??

My predictions:

1. Wolves - Towns
2. Lakers - Russell
3. 76ers - Mudiay
4. Knicks - Okafor
5. Magic - Porzingis
6. Kings - Herzonja

1. Wolves - Towns
2. Lakers - Russell
3. 76ers - Okafor (If Embid does miss next year with that foot)
4 Knicks- Mudiay
5. Magic - Porzingis

That's a really interesting point. The draft could actually be quite telling if the rumours are true or not.
To be honest I think they drafted Embiid in the hope that if Noel had these issues, they had a backup and if both were fine then trade one of their assets later - buying low and selling high. Noel looks to have recovered no problem, and they still have Dario Saric stashed in Europe (PF). So I think they'd be crazy drafting big again.

However, alarm bells begin to ring about Embiid around Xmas when stories of how hard he was to work with begin to surface and then of how much weight he'd put on. I don't think he has the drive or determination to be great now that he's got his pay checks and will be a bust - eddy curry 2.0

I agree with you in part Josh. Everyone seems to forget they have Saric stashed. There's no way they go big this draft. I laugh at all the stories linking them to Porzingis. They need a PG! Pretty sure they'd have their heart set on Russell, but I have a feeling he'll be gone so I reckon they take Mudiay.
I'm not sure Embiid will be a bust. Seen some varying stories on the status of his injury. Some say it's dire while some say it's nothing. Those weight gain stories were surfacing around the same time that video popped up of him doing the 360 dunk in a pre game warm up. Got a feeling somehow the weight gain were from old pics as he looked fairly lean in the vids that came out. I guess time will tell.

Absolutely. Happy to eat my words if he comes good. Never know, he might be more like Zach Randolph and take a bit of time till he's ready to put in the hard yards. For sixers fans, I hope every move they make pays off. They deserve so much better than what ownership is giving them right now.

Word floating around on social media this morning is that D'Angelo Russell has no desire to play for the Sixers, after seeing their erratic draft and trade behavior over the past two seasons. Apparently, he'd rather they pass him over should the lakers not select him and be available for the Knicks. Ouch.
