Cricket World Cup

NZ won their big game today - stuffing the poms by 6 wickets with 9 overs to spare - no one got hurt too!! Styris - the only batsman in the team without any form had a great game with 2-25 off 7 and 86 not out....Oram walked in a quiet 59 NO as well. Bond had 2-19 off 10 - A top effort....:)
 
I said to some mates (who reckon they are more cricket experts than me), that NZ would beat the Poms, but they didn't believe me. Suckers. But good on NZ. With Styris back, and Oram & Bond playing well, they are a good chance of making the last 4.
 
Sehwag looks in phenominal touch against Bermuda. Bold prediction...

First man to score 200 in an ODI :rolleyes:. We'll see..

BTW, anyone else see that guy Dwayne Levrock? He looks like a front rower out there for Bermuda!

Vincent - broken wrist - going home - hit in the nets by Bond.

Gillespie - shoulder infection - may be going home too - hasn't played yet.

Taylor - dicky hamstring - will miss the 1st super 8 game.....

Tuffey - gone home - rooted bicep after 6 overs of torture - not worried about this one.

F#$%^#$ rotten luck.....we have little chance without Gillespie and Vincent...I'm gutted

Gillespie is quite a loss but no more than us losing Brett Lee (Maybe less), Vincent was in great form and is a big loss !

Australia have started well with a early wicket to Tait.....he has bowled 4 wides in 2 overs though :(

Yeah Vincent hurts big time - he's arguably the best fielder in the world at cover too - has already run out 3 batsmen this tournament....Gilly is still a chance - he picked up some weird virus in his shoulder on the way over on the plane!!!

Great win by OZ today - well deserved and I don't think things could be going better for them. I think we all knew they'd make runs but the bowling has been excellent...

Sri Lanka must've batted crap against SA....

Can't believe Gayle had 2 off 23 balls!!
 
Wow! How was Malinga today? 4 wickets in 4 balls! and nearly pulled the Sri Lankans too victory from what looked like an easy victory for South Africa...
 
Yeah twas amazing, shame that Sri Lanka lost because they deserved to win at the end. Was this correct, this was first in history 4 out in 4 balls?

I think so....

NZ stuffed the Windies today - Bond, Oram and Vettori all taking 3 wickets and Styris continued his superb tournament - 10 overs for 35 runs with Lara's wicket and then scored 80 not out. The Windies look gone already.

Looking very much like OZ/NZ/Sri Lanka/South Africa semis unless England pull finger....
 
the WINDIES should not have run their mouth off about nto being afraid of australia.... you need to respect a wounded beast! ALWAYS! I doubt anyone else will underestimate us from now on!

I think I should say more to the point they seemed to show a lack of respect... suggesting they could out do anything we brought to the table... after we demolished the #1 side in the world....

I agree gotta have some confidence... but bring respect man LOL

I still rate NZ as the opponent I am most worried about! And Sri Lanka....
 
I didn't hear what they said - I think a lot of the time Lara tries to install confidence in his young guys by talking themselves up or the opposition down...they were shite today against us.
Must say I'm enjoying the games more than I thought I would - except for having to listen to Mark Nicholas crap on and on ad nauseum - especially when Oz are playing - the other day Kallis holed out on the boundary and Clarke took the dolly right in front of his face - MN called it a superb catch - he makes me wanna barf!!!

I wouldn't say we DEMOLISHED South Africa......at one stage it looked like we were going to be serious trouble but Smith got cramp and helped our cause. The next BIG Test will be against a rampaging NZ - They SMASHED the Windies last night ! Sri Lanka could cause some problems too :confused:
