nice pick..i had him earmarked for my other centre position...

Nice pick with Dolph Schayes - great stats. It's easy enough to go through an all time greats list and pick best available etc etc but do you think there will be a negative effect on the voting? Makes me think - regardless of how many people vote, will there be a reluctance to look up career stats of a couple of people on the team if they've never heard of them vs "oh, it's easier, I've heard of Lamarcus Aldridge and not Schayes" - just using that name because you picked it @jkidd05

Something I was thinking about when picking - like do I go with Kevin Love who has good stats and recognisable name or look for someone with longevity and slightly lesser stats or pick an all time great/best available. It's tough

I've been thinking about this. Ideally I think if there was such a thing as a simulator we should plug in the best season totals/averages for each player and put them head to head against each other. Older players stats hold up as they are playing against their peers. There are a thousand different ways to do this and hopefully we can create something that will determine the best team ever!!

Yeah I think the voting is not ideal but is the most fun as everyone gets involved plus doing a simulator option, if it's even possible, may be WAY too time consuming for one person.

The only possible issue with the simulator, is that things like blocks and steals weren't recorded as a stat for most or all of the older players careers. Wilt with blocked shots for example, Jerry Sloan with Steals (2.2 career average in his twilight only. Imagine what he would have pumped out in his prime!) or 3 point shooting are three that come to mind.

I think to an extent it will have an effect on voting...a team full of current players may not be received with as much as respect compared to a team full of hall of famers. At the same time, a team full of hall of famers may not seem as attractive because people may be less familiar with their style of play other than what they see in the stats.

There is no right or wrong answer and I guess that's all part of the fun. In saying that, I'm surprised this guy hasn't been picked yet.
