#001 League Sensations & Young Guns (Framed Jersey Image on Page 13)

For sure. Opening up old Select products is a blast. This would not be the case if redemptions had an expiry. Congratulations on the #001, I would have done exactly the same in removing the cards. Was the decision to pick up based around safety, cost or just a coincidence that your wife was nearby?

PS - Lucky you got this before I became a one team collector ;)

Just a headups, when talking to ESP's Terry about this redemption card he said redemptions will only be honoured up until 31 August 2015. Not quite sure why the deadline...

Save them money on framing them! Stupid idea anyway! Incentive would have been just a signed jersey. Saved them heaps of money! Just $150 for the jersey!

Imagine how gutted you would be cracking the Cam Smith #1 in September! Who knows if this timeframe thing is absolute or leniency will be shown, lets hope the latter.

Thanks for that, just coincidence really. Hadn't heard anything from ESP for ages and a month had ticked on from the 6 week turnaround date. Wife happened to be in Melbourne visiting family so I asked ESP to get the framing fast-tracked so it could get delivered to a local address in time for the return flight. To ESP's credit, it arrived with 48hrs. Came well packaged but still had my doubts on how it would handle international cartage (especially the glass) so wife bubblewrapped the crap out of it, then I crossed my fingers.

I seriously considered opening the frame and just bringing back the cards & jersey, but for the sake of $55NZ cartage, some bubblewrap and a bit of hassle, decided to bring the whole thing back.

Would have seemed such a waste otherwise given the framing process had been done.

The expiry date surprises me. With so much unsold stock and about half of the #001's not yet located it just doesn't make sense.

Does the jersey only get framed upon receipt of the redemptions? If so why don't they go ahead and have all of the unredeemed #001's framed so they are ready to go and there does not have to be an expiry.

Yeah mate I was well surprised. This was told to me last October when maybe 3-4 #1's hand been redeemed, maybe ESP thought there would be a sudden rush and 1 August 2015 would be enough time for all 16 to be found.

So redeemers needed to send the redemption to ESP. Upon receipt, ESP supplied the jersey, cards & COA to their framer.

As a side note, ESP supplied me a letter signed by Mannering confirming he was the signer of the jersey etc. It was dated 22/5/2014.

That was a good idea to bubble wrap, my Merrin #1 arrived damaged after a silly courier stood on it and cracked the frame.
ESP arranged for local framer to re-frame in a much better quality frame.
My redemption card has not been punched either.
Did you ask ESP for the letter confirming Mannering signed it.?

So an unlucky circumstance turned out not too bad then!

I asked if they had a photo of Mannering signing the jersey, much like how they released pics of other players signing theirs. In response I got this letter.

There's a decent sized chip/hole in the top of my frame too, won't worry about having it re-done cause you won't be able to see it when it's hanging.

Expiry? That seems crazy, as said Select product still sells well years later for more than the original price because of the chance to score and have a redemption honoured. Come 1 Aug 2015 the value of any stock they still hold or the poor resellers still hold will fall considerably. Where's the consideration for these small businesses that support them?

I think they need a better business finance or marketing person because some of their decision are random at best.

Framing is a cost they would have budgeted for, so why not get them framed and hold it until redeemed.

Because the redemption card gets framed as well

Are there expiry conditions on the box or wrappers or on their website ? Are their t&cs spefically stated anywhere accessible to the public.

Is it possible this is driven by consistency in policy on all redemptions and not wanting to have to bother with all the WIL?

Personally I think they should honour all of them like select do, but at the very least (despite not likeling the concept of the 1/1)the #1s should be honoured. We are only talking about 16 redemptions max and given about half have been found already.

If select don't even produce the nrl cards anymore and can do it, I think esp as the current producer should definitely.guess time will tell.

Nowhere that I know of! First I knew about it was in an email from ESP! Was hoping Matt would be able to confirm officially.

I can't find anything on redemption terms in the ESP site but maybe I have missed it given I am using a smartphone but I did find their replacement policy which states they will only honor replacements to 6 months from product release.

"6. Further to the above no replacements for damaged or errors cards will be issued beyond 6 months from release date. ESP can only replace like for like cards while stocks last and will not replace cards that have been individually purchased or traded (a receipt of purchase maybe requested for proof of purchase)."
