This company is becoming greedy!
What crooks, not to mention all the one touches they never send that show them in perfect condition yet damaged screw downs don't get removed.
$2 is to much.
We have the nickname FEEBAY we seriously now need to find one for COMC as there money greedy!
The time and effort pfft like any effort actually gets put in!

The extra processing time is obviously to allow them to have more regular pizza parties, the extra costs pay for them. It's the only real explanation for such a dramatic change.

...Or at least that's what the comc ceo alluded to in a blog video late last year.

These rediculous prices arent one off's either, they are all the way through the site. but of course, we cant contact the seller in these situations so we are forced into "creating more work" for comc. Then we have to pay more for having to go this route.

Comc put up there price cause they know they got us by the balls the grubs

From a business standpoint, if you need to increase your fees, you should be able to directly relate that to a better outcome for your customer.

Higher fees + improved service = Acceptable outcome.

Higher fees + poorer service = Steaming pile of

Would it not be easier, to get the mailbox user to verify which cards are to be processed from the photo emailed to them when an item arrives?

To me thats common sense and the easiest way to reduce workloads...

That would only increase delays from re-reading emails and then the added and very likely possibility of incorrectly misinterpreting that information.

I now put them on par with Panini in terms of losing touch with collectors. They moan time and time again about how much effort it takes to processing cards...etc...etc...etc. I thought this was one of the elements that made COMC a supposed great alternative to eBay?

The issue with supplies is a flat out joke . Despite numerous complaints and straight up PROOF that what is written on paper and what is actually happening has been very different, the only response has been "I'll pass this along to the processing team".

Of course...why bother? Collectors have no alternative anyways so let's just increase the fees!

Well one day ....and hopefully soon, there will be a competitor and people will be jumping ship in an instant.

Any person with a bit of common sense will now realise, the bigger COMC grows, the more disconnected they become with collectors.

They are complaining about cards that get DONATED to them to raise money for charity? Really??

Are we to blame if sellers are generous and want to give out freebies? In the event these base cards are used for protection, I guess it's our bad luck that sellers want to ensure the cards are protected?

This is a type of service that is clearly needed in the hobby but it doesn't mean a company can walk all over the passion of collectors.

Well.... Looks like its back to the asking about postage to all eBay sellers... I could handle the $2 cost now (as I thought $1 was pretty low to get a scan and all the work with it) but with the extended lead time... Yeah I dunno... I will get freebies quite a bit too of just low end crappy base and now to have to pay a few for each one is a bit out there as I have donated at least 20 cards over time.

On a side note, @Moe@COMC , how much would a 8.5" x 11" sheet cost to get processed?

I can deal with the $2 fee, but the increased processing time is complete BS.

Two weeks to take a scan? You're no longer adding the card information. Even a week would've have been acceptable.

Like another member said, higher costs for less service.

so if I buy a single camby card off ebay
$3-4US internal US shipping
$2 COMC processing
$3 COMC shipping
$0.20 Top loader charge (even if it already comes in a toploader or one touch)
TOTAL -$8.20 (minimum is now $5 per card + shipping to Australia)
(of course i'm not factoring in sending multiple cards)

Nearly makes it easier and better to simpley pay the $7-10 shipping and have it sent direct.

Plus you're looking at about 3-5 days shipping to COMC, 2 weeks processing and 4 weeks of shipping to Australia.

Just over a month and a half to receive cards.

I know I carry on and make jokes and all that, but in all seriousness if they needed more time to process stuff, I'm sure we could understand an extra day or two (5 day processing!?) if required as the service expands.

Benji made a good point, if you increase the price - there has to be a potential gain to the customer, which isn't the case right now.

How could they flip it into benefiting both sides? Reintroduce the super fast processing at a higher cost - example the old 24 hour processing the used to have for $5.00, where as anyone else would be happy to pay the new $2 rate for 5 days.

It gives us options as collectors and helps them simultaneously.

They're still a good option for selling stock you have in-hand -- you shouldn't be using the mailbox service for that though, look through the submission instructions on their site.

The criticisms/concerns here are largely re: changes to the mailbox service.

Step 1. Check out page 2 of this thread where it tells you how to address your stuff to be received properly.

Step 2. Take out a mortgage on your home to pay for items sent to comc.

Step 3. Wait 2 weeks for your cards to be processed by comc.

Step 4. Ship your cards using which ever choice of postage appeals to your time and budget.

Step 5. Wait 1-4 weeks for your cards to arrive.

Step 6. Come back here to b*itch about the process and charges.
