COMC Mailbox Thread

yeah, under this price point I'm pretty much done sending to COMC unless its a higher end item. To make it worth while, I now have to purchase two cards from a seller on ebay, which then means the actual cost is not $2 its $2 + the cost of the extra card - and then have to wait TWO WEEKS!?

Was good while it lasted i suppose.

Thats actually some really depressing news, so the cards get cheaper at 50c per card but we now need to find ebay sellers with 4 cards per order! This, never occurs.

agreed. its really rare to find anyone with 4 cards you need - and when it does happen its usually someone like Cavalier Cards or Burbank who ship straight to Australia for $4.95 anyway.

Standard Post in US is around $2.50 - $3 i find. Add in $2 to send to comc, now at $5 - plus fees to ship the goods at the end (minimum $0.25, another dollar after waiting 2 weeks from the point it arrives). It's now cost $6 to get a card home and has taken two weeks to process, where as i can pay $4.95 and have it usually in under two weeks anyway.

agree with all above, unfortunately there still is the problem of sellers not shipping to Australia so what other choice do we have? :(

I think this is all true. Whilst there are sellers that won't ship to Australia, this service will be needed. However this now makes it extremely hard to do so. Throw in the dropping of the Aussie dollar and it now makes it an extremely expensive exercise. I for one would have been happier to receive a longer wait he same fee, not doubling the fee and the wait. My biggest concern now is to get my 2 cards there I have coming and send them home before the new fee structure kicks in as my balance at comc is already budgeted for the current fee structure.
But as mentioned, it was good whilst it lasted.

I suppose it's not surprising that the new fee structure is basically charging more for a lesser service. As if the service quality hasn't deteriorated enough already !

As Josh said, why would anyone in their right mind send their cards to COMC to process at $2 per card, when you can ship it direct for just about the same price once you factor in all the other fees.

$4.95 extra per card, to be processed once every fortnight...and yet the site is still filled with missing or wrong data, search parameters not functioning, processing staff that can't tell the difference between a 100pt and a 130pt top loader. what a joke.

the email says:
First and foremost: we'd like to remind all Mailbox users to check the COMC.com site before you buy elsewhere. Remember, if you buy on COMC, you don't have to pay a third party to ship your purchase to us. The card is already here, saving you money and reducing risk.

which is all well and good, but when there are faried base cards, which arent even a parallel, set with an asking price of $25.00 then what am i supposed to do?

These rediculous prices arent one off's either, they are all the way through the site. but of course, we cant contact the seller in these situations so we are forced into "creating more work" for comc. Then we have to pay more for having to go this route.

Well if it's not cost effective what can you do? At least they're honest instead of making excuses trying to put it on the user for using it wrong (like last time) may be worth it now for "lots" to sell on comc @ 50c a card

I'll certainly still be using it. Was a cheap service previously, but as the email said, it's not really cost effective for them. Price increase is unfortunate, but is still a great service that enables us to get cards that we possibly couldn't get otherwise.

So here are the damaged cards I received

Keep in mind this

- They arrived in the middle of 50+ other cards that were in perfect condition, packed in a large box, with bubble wrap and beans
- the Top loaders were markless, so they had to have been damaged prior to being placed in them
- The photos I received of them on arrival showed them in perfect condition

I think if these were the charges to begin with, we wouldve been stoked with it.

But we've got so use to $1 per card now, so its pretty hard to take now

This company is becoming greedy!
What crooks, not to mention all the one touches they never send that show them in perfect condition yet damaged screw downs don't get removed.
$2 is to much.
We have the nickname FEEBAY we seriously now need to find one for COMC as there money greedy!
The time and effort pfft like any effort actually gets put in!
