That is hardcore man. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Feel sick just reading it, so can't imagine how you must feel. Id seriously look at taking Paypal to court over this or something. We want justice god damn it!!!!

Before 18 February 2015, please provide documentation to confirm the returned merchandise is damaged. (The item is not damaged, it's just not two NBA jerseys!)

This documentation should be from an unbiased third party (such as a dealer or repair shop) and should detail the extent of the damage. This third party should be someone who is qualified to appraise the merchandise. (Oh yeah, there are plenty of NBA jersey experts around here, NOT!!!!)

The information should be on letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the appraiser so that we may contact them if we require additional information.

Please do not proceed with any repairs or alterations to the merchandise until the appeal has been decided.

Can you not sign a stat dec, and have a JP sign it, stating what you received is NOT an NBA Jersey? Stevie Wonder could even tell it's not the same!!
 
All the best with this mate, you've been enduring this mess for a while. I had an incident with an eBay seller sending me an unknown signature signed cap different to the Iverson signed cap and he was denying all the way. Long story short he said he 'found it' lol reckons he sent it, waiting to see if I'll actually get it. Anyway hope you get it sorted but boy they're making your jump through a lot of hoops.
 
Don't worry to much about the word "appraise", it's just getting a third party to look at it, like the letter you have shown to say what the package is, but maybe try to remove the part were they opened it? Just to be safe..
 
I think that with paypal/ebay pulling this shit on so many people... a group action civil case has got to be possible.

I won't sell on Ebay because of scammers. When a company will not accept a video proving the item has been sent, that is unedited... you know they just out to let people scam. None of their policies protect sellers.
 
This is just a joke. I blasted them on facebook and in the meantime have desperately tried to obtain what they wanted, which I have done today. They've taken my facebook message and now have even more ridiculous demands -

"Thank you for contacting PayPal via Facebook. If you did not initiate this contact, please let us know immediately by replying to this email.

I do apologize for any confusion on the documentation being requested.

In previous Facebook messages, there was documentation/images provided in regards to the item received from the buyer. This information needs to be uploaded to the dispute for supporting documentation on what was received back.

Also, there was a previous message sent on February 10, 2015 with an update on the requested documentation. As the buyer returned the wrong item, please complete the following steps:

Contact your local police department and obtain a police/incident report. The police/incident report should detail how one of the above scenarios apply to you. This report should be on the law enforcement agency's letterhead or stamped police documentation and clearly explain the details of your issue. This documentation must include the department/officer's contact information, the reporting officer's name, badge number and signature."

What?? I don't think Auckland Police will go for this... I've already provided more than enough evidence and they still want me to jump through hoops to get MY OWN MONEY back??

Well F it. I'm going to go to the cops on Monday and make this an official thing. I might even incriminate paypal in this as they have effectively stolen our money. I just have to hope they'll play ball.
 
So I went to the police...



...who can't do anything because it's out of their jurisdiction, being that the 'crime' happened outside of New Zealand.


They have suggested I contact the police in Taiwan. Which I have now attempted to do online, hopefully the acknowledgement of this report is sufficient for this pathetic thieving company. "Paypal, just try to beat our hundreds of loopholes!"
 
Surely there is a legal case against PayPal that could be taken? They have not provided a duty of care at all, which is supposedly what the fees are for.

I had a scammer a few months back from Nevada try to rip me off over a Rhonda Rousey UFC card, I ended up going through ask paypal on twitter and this Anna girl was very helpful and managed to get me a refund which I could not get any answers from ebay and paypal.

Did you want me to go back through my emails mate and see her direct email for you???
