I am trying to generate a bit of off season chat!

Should Russell Packer & Danny Wicks be allowed to return to the NRL without further sanction after having served their period of incarceration?

Is this a good look for the NRL's image?

Do they deserve a second chance?

If you do the time, you should be given a second chance, but they will both need a lot of support and guidance from their clubs and team mates to make it work.

Wicks I can cop, as he has been out for few years and his time suits the crime IMO.

Packer no way. His attack was atrociou. Give him few years at least. Next year (2016) maybe at best. If some other league wants his service I don't care as long as it's not the nrl or qrl. And I don't care about NSWRL but hope he doesn't get gig there either.

Agree. Makes you wonder just how lucky Auvaa was to have criminal conviction (10 times worse than Wicks) and worse than Ferguson but yet got to play entire season. That was a disgrace.
agree especially when he had pleaded guilty in May, his grand final ring should be stripped from him if it hasn't been already. The NRL handles these situations inconsistently.

Part of me agrees that players should get a second chance once they have served their time and have shown and changed there behaviour however they would be on a very tight leash (counselling to be provided to the player to help them stay on the straight and narrow). But the other part disagrees with them coming back (especially depending on the severity of the crime Match-fixing, multiple/serial offences/offender,murder,ect), with this becomes a grey area( is it ok to let some people come back and not others- seems abit hypocritical where do you draw the line?)

Both have been dealt with through the courts and both players have done the time.

I am happy for both players to come back into the NRL as long as they don't come straight back in and play, as already said, they should undergo education and community programs, prove they are rehabilitated and then having earnt the right they can recommence playing.

Isn't that what prison is for?

I would imagine any education in prison is theory only so once released it needs to be put into practice. I don't think you need to prove you are rehabiltated to be released from prison once you've served your sentence.

I cat think of any reason why they shouldn't be allowed. They have paid the price the courts gave them for the crimes they committed.
