Official 2014-15 NBA Regular Season Thread

Travel or not? I tried watching it about four times and still couldn't decide

I think he gathered the ball as he took a step with back to McLemore and then took 2 steps so technically not a travel. So close though you'd need super slo-mo
If they don't call it on the floor though they can't review can they, it was purely to check the shot clock

here's the rule and video

i really do not see them winning against either tbh, yeah pistons are playing horrible but with Jsmooth,Drummnd & Munroe will have a field day against there bigs.
Al Jefferson will ruin them by himself. I think they could get it over either Magic or Heat if they are without there star players (Vucevic / Wade) but saying that Bosh will go ham also i'd say. It also depends if people are rested against them like how Spurs do it against the lower tier teams.

flagrant 2?????

not even sure this is a flagrant 1! over reacting to all the talk about Griffin being sick of being hacked I think!
O'Quinn is not a dirty player at all and made a play at the ball, just doesn't have as much hang time as Griffin and his hand raked down a bit on his face.

yeah depends which teams take the chance to rest players I guess, didn't take that into account but I think a Spurs team with no Duncan and Parker could still beat them by 15.

Sorry, have to disagree.

Flagrant Fouls: These fouls are considered unnecessary and/or excessive. There are two types of flagrant fouls, 1 and 2. A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact. This is usually when a defensive player swings and makes hard contact with the offensive player or makes hard contact and then follows through. A flagrant foul 2 is unnecessary and excessive contact. This usually has a swinging motion, hard contact, and a follow through.

Definitely excessive, per NBA.com

And per Wikipedia (Yes, I know it's Wikipedia)

In basketball, a flagrant foul is a serious personal foul. A foul is considered flagrant when it involves excessive or violent contact that could injure the fouled player.

not excessive in my opinion. went for the block ,momentum carried his hand swipe down. flagrant 1 at MOST, 2? no way. no follow through. caught up in the Blake whinge imo

Cavs @ Knicks

good to see Hardaway Jr getting some time (and making shots), Fisher seems like he's definitely of the pay-your-dues school of playing time, giving no where near as much time to THJr this season
