ok mate speculation it was fake... well sorry to tell you i have never seen a thurston sig like that not that i profess to be a expert, the give away is the j for starters is nothing like another thurston J i have seen . He always does a little curl in the j not straight like that Compare it to every other sig on ebay and it looks dodgy Dane. Im not trying to be a a....hole to you
but there is a lot of dodgy sigs in the trading card game. Some people are out just to make a buck. Just be cause assures you and even if he had pictures of thurston signing a elite 2014 gold who is to say that its that actual elite card. You see what i am trying to say its easy to con people if you want to. If i was you i would put up a picture of the card and see what everyone says about it. There is a lot of knowledge on this site that everyone can learn from and people with a hell of a lot of experience in collecting ips and sigs etc that can be passed on to new collecters so that they dont make the same mistakes as they have be it buying fakes ,bad seller/traders to avoid, trusted sellers to deal with down to just what type of pen is best. It always hurts to know you have been ripped better off to take the hit then be one of the dodgys that pass there crap on. Anyway good luck with the collection and trading in the future
 
Why isn't admin doing something about this?

Didn't that elusive winger guy get banned for trying to sell dodgy signed cards?

I dont believe dane is trying to sell them other than the JT, more of a mailday in the wrong section and without pics.

A shame he got all these cards from david rootes and most seem dodgy

How can admin do something if we don't know about it???? I actually saw this thread about 7am this morning and there were no replies, I just took as it an incredibly weird list, thought maybe it should have been in the mailday or for sale forum, but couldn't figure it out.
Happy to step in, but at this stage I don't have any proof. The seller has said he has proof and I am sure we'll see that soon :P If not let this thread show as a significant warning to any buyer, as you've pointed out the community of OZcards is all about looking out for each other and protecting the trading card community, so the selling of fakes will not be tolerated.

I actually saw this thread about 7am this morning and there were no replies, I just took as it an incredibly weird list, thought maybe it should have been in the mailday or for sale forum, but couldn't figure it out.
 
@Dane Clarke are you able to share the story behind obtaining this card? As a collector and moderator of the website I am really interested in finding out!
I'm sure you telling us where this signature was obtained would certainly help drive interest in your card!

Not sure mate. He is in the facebook group that gets talked about and seemed pretty annoyed when people suggested some of his signatures weren't legit, but other cards he has traded with people has also been questioned by many.

Fair go - you asked the question about what are admin doing? Hard to do something if nobody notifies us, we try to get to everything but we don't necessarily view every thread. In fact I am not an NRL collector, so certainly wouldn't be offering an opinion on the card or not. By reporting the post it alerts every mod.
