Former NBA player Rex Chapman was arrested on Friday for stealing more than $14,000 of merchandise from an Apple Store. Chapman is accused of seven thefts over the course of several months in Scottsdale, AZ. He allegedly sold the stolen items for cash at a local pawn shop. From 3TV Phoenix:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Former Phoenix Suns player Rex Chapman is accused of stealing merchandise from the Apple store in Scottsdale.
Chapman, 46, was arrested on Friday at approximately 1:45 p.m. after police stopped his vehicle in northeast Scottsdale.
Police began investigating the case in August when employees reported a series of shoplifting incidents involving the same suspect over a period of a few months.
Police said Chapman allegedly picked up items in the store and made it appear that he was paying for them with an iPhone app through the store’s self-checkout system.
He would then leave the store without actually paying for the items. He allegedly took merchandise to a local pawn shop and sold it for cash.
There were seven incidents of theft reported to Scottsdale police that detectives believe Chapman is responsible for. The value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at more than $14,000.[/URL]

poor taste in products lol. Of all the things to go down in history with.

On a more serious not yes its sad how these professional athletes end up with no money and end up stealing and/or begging for cash (AI)
 
My initial thoughts on seeing the headline was: "Gee, how many apples can 1 guy EAT??? Ohhh, waaaaaaaaaiiiiiit..." lol! :ermm: BIG night last night, that's my excuse... haha
 
It's not sad, it's stupid, if you blow millions it's only the person in the mirrors fault, how do they manage to blow so much money, you would think that once you got down to your last million you would wake up and go shit I better clamp down on my spending lol
 
These guys are/were sports stars. Not accountants. (well some are that too)

Although with 20 million, he could have hired a decent accountant and financial advisor.

Or in the very least a criminal advisor that would surely have told him: steal something worthwhile and less traceable than electronic products to pawn at your local pawn shop. *SMDH*

I'm just a shit kicker worker mate and no accountant for sure, but even I have half a brain on how to budget, I mean I could go buy a 2 million doller mansion, but even with my poor maths skills I know what with my wage I an't making the repayments lol, I only attended school up to high school, near all these guys need a good gpa score to get into college and attend college so their has to be a brain in their somewhere with abit off commons sence, Atleast Shawn kemp has a good excuse, everyone can say Shawn should have kept his willy in his pants, but it's got to be very hard when you have women who look like models knocking on your door looking for company, Shawn has like 12 kids to 12 different women, about 1 for every year in the league, that's pretty good restant if you ask me, I would have knocked up 12 in a month if it was being chuck at me by beautiful women lol, Shawn should have gone into the plumbing industry after the nba, I mean he could have had the slogan "laid more pipe than any man in America" and meant it too lmao

Kemp also got booted out of 1 college for stealing a gold chain, and other colleges didn't want him cause he didn't have the grades. Athletic freak, yes, intelligent guy, no, but he also made close to 200 million throughout his career.

Anyone seen the doco broke? It's really interesting to see players talk about how much money they made and how they went about wasting it all.

For the record, its been cleared that Kemp never stole the gold chain, he just didn't snitch on the "friend" that did.
Kemp laid a lot of women..A LOT. how could he not, beast of a player on the court, beast of a playa off the court...
At least he has a decent legitimate business now; Oskars resto in Seattle.
Better off than a lot of ex ballers.
