I'm not saying having the #1s is a bad thing it is the 1/1 Redemption that I am not a fan of. For team set collector's and worse still for Master Set collector's there will only be 1 person who will ever have a full complete collection of the cards released for that year.

the card that is redeemed is still the #/130 version the same as the other 129 isn't it?
Just that it comes framed with the signed jersey?
Personally I wouldn't see the #1 as any different therefore to the other 129 if I was trying to put together a full set.
I think he means that there is only 1 redemption card. I've noticed that NRL collectors keep the actual redemption card as part of the set, unlike say NBA collectors that throw the redemption card. So being that there is only one card only one person would have a complete set.

Its the 1/1 redemption cards that is the problem, if they made another 129 redemptions then that would be fine but having only 1 redemption cards means only 1 person can ever complete their set so this years release has really turned me off bothering for high end stuff now since i will never get a whole set. I would like to know if they plan on doing it again bc if I think if it happens agains that when I will give it away and sell up.
If they do redemption cards it needs to be for the entire set to prevent the 1/1 issue.
Can we ask them if they can make redemptions for the other 129 if we send them back to them? They prob wont do it but it would help fix a problem they have created which is causing collectors to lose interest. I wouldnt care if it took 6 months to get back for them to organise even

I'm a master set collector and also have a Sea Eagles PC and the idea of missing out on the #001 card isn't an issue. At the end of the day the card is the same as all other 129 of them apart from the additional redemption card.
Would everybody that has an issue with this rather see the old days of #001 not being available to the public?

i think they shouldve all been redemptions all 130 of then
that way team collectors get every card for their PC.
they can still do the jersey crap for the number #1. then i guarantee you it doesn't go for something as ridiculous as 1338 either.
it would solve every problem, even quality control ones where sigs are damaged in packaging. as well as retarded errors like the moylan sig that was found.

I'm fine with #1s being available just not where there is only 1 redemption card. If there was 130 redemptions then it'd be all good. Personally i think esp have done a great job except for two things. The 1/1 redemption ( which really bugs me) and to a lesser extent the lazy approach to parallels where they dont even use a different image. They fix those two things and i cant fault them

+1 on including 80s/90s era players as an insert - I've probably got 50 different Minichiello cards, but only a paltry few Hugh McGahan, Salvo etc

+1 on request for rugby cards - maybe Waratahs S15 victory limited edition to test the market?
A few guys on this site have created mock-up card ideas for future releases - how about a forum on the ESP site to display collectors' suggestions? Those complaining about the 1/1 redemptions, if they had a redemption for every card, then the redemption for card #1 would still have to be different, because it would mention that you had also won the framed jersey.
