How do you fellows OZCARDERS rate the common card, are they there to make team sets, complete sets or what, do they have a value or just throw away. I would like to see what you think.
I think after making whole and team sets they are collectable as down the track the odd sets there are cards needed and I think they have a value. I have given away cards to people to get them interested in collecting but have had collectors who think that they have no value for trading. What are your thoughts commons and don't say there is to many, we know.

Commons are the heart and soul of a set.
Go back to the oldest sets you have and look at the names. The memories come flooding back, the jerseys, the sponsors, the haircuts. Then the inserts started to appear and the focus began to move away from the common cards. But even from the earliest Select sets that included more inserts, I still love to look at the commons and see which players changed clubs or went to Superleague or retired before their time or disappeared without a trace - long live the common card. ;)

Exactly, I'll take them if you're going to throw them away!(except 2013 traders. Have enough of them to sink a ship)

Throw em out,as you have said they are massively over produced. I keep one set then usually list the other thousand on feebay

I don't throw them away, I usually keep a spare set and then I make up three or four sets for mates' kids and give the rest to my daughter to give to the kids at After School Care. They must be respected. :D

Is it the younger generation or new ones to collecting that only care that there lots of inserts and have no regards for the common as I think they show more history of the game then inserts do. I wish I had more space.

I keep them all. Sometimes make additional sets as more come into my possession. Also useful to fatten trades that may not have been worthwhile otherwise. Lastly, when I get an IP, I like to have a blank of card also so useful to have around generally. The negative is the space they can potentially take up
