Why can't I ship using a Plain White Envelope?

no one is paying $8 on shipping for a Chris Kaman insert :)

Forget shipping charges.. Anyone selling, buying or trading chris kamans should immediately be reported to the moderators! And then they can be dealt with!

I've dealt with people from the State's and no-one has said that it costs US$9 to post via bubble mailer. The most the postage has been has been $2.40 in a US$1 bubble mailer. Sorry to call the bluff, but I'm doing it based on past experience at another site.

He's not bluffing, I have stuff come nearly every week from the States and most of the time it's $6-7 at the least to get here, some times even $9.45...they had a big price hike over there a little while back. Used to be 3-4 bucks for the same thing before the hike...

good to hear everyones views.

Understand the rules, but IMO there is scope to consider PWE if and only if, you are also committing to shipping in a rigid card holder which is then wrapped in a team set bag (so you get the double protection against being/creasing and moisture from rain)

The problem is any memorabilia card (shipped in a top loader - even a one touch) that is shipped in a plain white envelope will most likely be damaged. These envelopes go through Aust Post Rollers and the cards will bend at its weakest part (around the jersey piece) or if its in a one touch the case will shatter and pretty much destroy the card.

As I said previously, just send the card like you would like to receive it...well protected and in a good condition.

Cheers
Matt

P.S. I've lost about 4-5 memorabilia cards because of people sending in Plain White Envelopes....

A card should not be sent in a rigid card holder, particularly not in just an envelope. One touches shatter, I had it happen to an Exquisite Larry Bird Auto/Patch...you should always be shipping in a top loader, which is in a team bag, possibly with cardboard (I do) for added protection and in a bubble mailer. It's not that hard, it's not expensive and it is 99% fool proof. And, if you're like me, you have 100s of Bubble mailers just sitting around from the cards you have bought, so the only actual cost is the stamp! $1.40 within Australia.

Oh and if you buy off me, you better enjoy sticky tape

Honestly you baffle me here dude. It costs about $3-$4 bucks total to post a bubble mailer. If someone wants to pay postage, and most do - or at least work that into consideration for the price of a card, why do you keep trying to justify the PWE?

Looks like we have a new addition to the mensa club. Gonna take a wild stab & say he was already banned from blowout.

Can't find his username there, took just about 3 weeks for the card to arrive too.

Will be leaving a neg for this deal, not only because rules were broken, but he agreed to post using a bubble mailer.
