2014-15 NBA Free Agents & Signings

the lakers are making some questionable moves...lets face it unless kobe goes to a playoff bound deep team, which isn't going to happen, he isn't going to win anymore rings and even go deep in the playoffs, so start building pieces for the future, with kobe being instrumental in "nurturing" talent, signing boozer was a stupid move, how are you going to give players like randle and davis mins to gain experience? Jeremy lin? why? with the money they spent on lin and boozer they could of made a run at Bledsoe!!!....nash needs to go in a sign and trade deal, sure someone would be happy to take on his one year contract...have they got coach yet? maybe kobe could become a player/coach like the old ABA days..

Cameron Bairstow has signed a contract for 3 years, first year is the only guarantee, but its a start. Will probably be in the D League for most of the year anyway.

Other signings-
Evan Turner to Celtics
Robbie Hummel resigns with Wolves
Trevor Booker to Jazz
Anthony Tolliver to Suns
Spencer Dinwiddie signed by Pistons
Glen Davis resigns with Clips
Matt Bonner resigns with Spurs

Read that this morning, very interesting. Trade out Boozer, let go of Randolph, bring in Gasol (possibly put Gibson into starting role), but now looking to add Love.

Perhaps Gasol would assume the role of backup C??
i must say this sound like a plan , but who would twolves get?

:confused:talks that the Bulls are back in the mix for k love

i dont like k love in chicago... they would have to give up too much defense to get him and it would change the mix of the team too dramatically... thibs is a defensive oriented coach, theyve got lots of talent coming in with mirotic, gasol, mcdermott and brooks, so offense shouldnt be an issue any longer like it was in the past and clearly health of rose and noah are a key to any future success - loving the look of this team and hope they dont blow it all up

he is a better fit in cleveland as there are obviously some key pieces there already, would need to solidify the team defensively though... giving up wiggins would be tough but you would be building the team to win now while bron is in his prime for the next 3 to 5 yrs - afterall that is why he is coming back to cleveland, to win them a title or 2... wiggins may very well take that amount of time to even get established in the league, still a young kid at the end of the day OR the gamble doesn't pay off and ricky rubio helps wiggins become the next transcendant talent in the league

boston is a team that should try and get him i reckon. they have a good young coach, it would just about ensure rondo stays, they have some nice pieces in smart and bradley to help sure up their defense, but would clearly need some big men to add to the mix for defensive presence too - it would be a significant jolt i would have thought - not sure they can make it happen though as i dont know that the wolves will like the package that celtics can offer them, likely consisting of bit part players, young unproven players with potential and future draft picks

stay tuned - either way any k love deal will likely be a franchise changing move for the team getting him and his current team who will be losing him

New Dallas Mavericks forward Rashard Lewis will soon undergo right knee surgery, his agent told Yahoo Sports. The Mavericks announced the signing of Lewis on July 19 after he agreed to a one-year contract paying the veteran's minimum. Lewis' agent Colin Bryant said it's uncertain how long Lewis will be sidelined. It's also uncertain if the Mavericks will try to void Lewis' contract. Lewis' knee injury was discovered during a physical for the Mavericks. A Mavericks spokesperson declined comment. Yahoo! Sports - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.igTjFDDp.dpuf

Don't stress, Love is headed to Cleveland, we could get confirmation as early as the next couple days, with cavs trading for three unguaranteed contracts to help with facilitating trade one way or another (whether that by consumating a three way.... or however else they can legally trade the waivable guys incoming).

While Maya Moore was putting on a 48 point show (second highest ever WNBA score) Flip came down to Glen Taylor and the two hurried off, Taylor eventually re-emerged, but was sure gone a while.

Think the deal will be more focused on Wiggins, Bennett (for salary purposes) and a first rounder (either the Memphis or Miami pick that Cleveland holds). Three scrubs from Utah may also be involved one way or another and potentially BRendan Haywood, who while only worth 2.2m on salary cap this year, becomes a 10 mil fully unguaranteed contract next season and as such a valuable trade chip next off season/at dead line.

FYI, Brendan Haywood doesn't have a 10M unguaranteed contract, he was amnestied by the Mavs a couple years back and they are paying him what salary is left over after the team he is playing for. He will be a FA, but still getting a wage and a pretty handy one at that...

Due to the way waivers work.... yes his 2.2mil is guaranteed... but then his final year shoots up to 10 million salary cap but the way its is written it is unguaranteed... trust me on this all the talking heads on canishoopus have been discussing it :)

Are we talking about the same guy? lol

He has a total salary of 7.798M owed this coming year, 2M of which is on the books of the Cavs, the rest from the amnestied salary. Trust me as I have been monitoring the Mavs salary cap situation quite a lot the last few years ;). I was mistaken thinking he had another year after this but he doesn't. He will be a UFA with no money owed after the 14/15 season.

Here are the numbers-

Seems weird since the Mavs would have had to pay out his contract. Why would the Cavs (or whoever he ends up with) have the option of the 10.5M in 15/16 since his amnestied bid contract finishes 14/15? I understand the whole trading fiasco where they could make a trade for a player with a contract and then the receiving team waive him with no contractual obligations, but it just doesn't seem 'normal'

Ohh well, Cubes will have one less cheque to write.
