COMC Mailbox Thread

Holly Molly!!!

Hi @Moe@COMC

Just wondering, I requested a shipment this morning of 79 cards, 75% mailbox submissions the rest purchased on comc. The cost was $35.60 for standard shipment was the one I had to choose as the express was $125. Have I missed some fine print?? About 6 months ago I shipped about 100 cards express for about $40.

Anyone else experience this price rise??

Cheers slim :)

Interestingly enough I was just mentioning how expensive the express option was to someone else on this site the other night. To put into perspective, you can ship a case from 12 box case DACW using UPS 2 day service for around $120.

The cost of my past three COMC shipments:

Ship Date: 5/21/2014
Shipping Cost: $166.65

Ship Date: 4/28/2014
Shipping Cost: $334.10

Ship Date: 2/3/2014
Shipping Cost: $240.40

Granted most of my cards are mailbox items but there is no way I wanted to take the risk given the value and how much money I spent on some of those cards so Express was my only option. Even so I think the rate for the Express service is very heavily inflated.

$334??? That's insane, even with insurance that doesn't seem right... How many cards?

Not wrong there mate. 300 in total, around 100 were purchased on site.
Surely they would have some sort of business account for their shipping, so it should have been cheaper.

It's roughly $1 per card from what I can extract above, not too bad considering it's $7-8 for one card off ebay OR $20+ for one card as per the method you describe above.

Not really. Postage should become cheaper the more you ship. If I purchased 100 cards from ebay off the same seller, I wouldn't be paying 100 * $7.00, I'd be paying a combined rate.

I purchase 100 screwdowns at a time, and it costs $56 postage here in 7 days.

And as mentioned above $120 for a case, 2 day delivery from dacardworld.

Hey! Thanks for the email, and the feedback...I did a little research on this. The Express option is the most expensive, but it also has an additional per item charge. I checked your past orders with us, and that order you're referring to was actually a Registered order that our shipping team upgraded to Express for you. That's why it was only $50 to ship those 200 cards.

I hope this clarifies things for you - please let me know if there's anything else you need. :)

Unfortunately I dont have any 550's and even if I did its low end that will sell for bugger all once you include shipping from Australia and 20% of anything you withdraw....Ive only got 800 ct boxes and could fill a cpl, but not at 25c a card plus shipping considering most of it is low end autos, jeseys and insets.... If I go to the states in the next cpl of years, I'll pack them and send them from there... haha!
