2014 ESP Elite info discussion thread (Flyer P22 - Checklist P41)

Price rise is inevitable.

You gotta wonder though how much cheaper it is to print the cards here and have them shipped over, cut, packed and sent back.

It's a lot cheaper overseas..... you are talking massive price increases (double digit % and then some) to have cards made here.

Cheers
Matt

Having posted in the thread about parallels, I thought I should post in this one as well for balance! The set looks sensational!!! Apart from the over-indulgence of parallels, there isn't much you can't like. The redemption for the number one cards is a brilliant idea, so far ahead of what we've had in the past! Loads of sigs, and by the looks of things, they are going to be quality players on every single one. I really can't think of many improvements at all (apart from game worn patches :P ) and think ESP might just have set a new benchmark for Australasian trading cards with this one! =D>=D>=D>

To be fair the company doing it on behalf of ESP cocked that up last year.....

LOL

Matt that's just BS from esp the programming for collation comes from ESP. Select & ESP use the same printers in China & the funny thing is Select always gets their collation right.........

George,

You are correct that they do use the same printers but the direction that was given by ESP was that it should have been a signature in 2 out of 3 boxes and the other the F&F gold.

It ended up with boxes having 2 signatures in them and some boxes not having anything at all.

It was a pack out screw up.

A couple of changes that would be nice to see are firstly with the parallels, have the first lot of parallels as they are but the gold parallels number them to 100. Also with the Australian Heroes they would be great if they were numbered to 80 themselves.

I like the idea of signature case cards, gives the dealer something back as the margins are being squeezed it seems by ESP.

Nice clean signatures with same marker on the samples on the flyer fingers crossed the real ones look like that.
My only criticism with this set is the parallels,
Not that there's 3 lots to collect i like that challenge, but having The same image on all 3 cards.
Would rather see different image of the player or a home and away jersey of same player.

I think do away with the base parallel set and just have special parallels with maybe a gold parallel of say the captain or star player 1:24 and maybe a numbered diamond parallel of the club logo 1:72.

Hopefully the insert collation is right and if so this will be a cracker release, I already have a spot picked out for my #1 Raiders League Sensation & jersey!!!

NBA does parallels with the same image. Then collectors try to complete all colours of their PC player (complete the rainbow). Actually looks really nice when you have them all together.

Also think Dave's suggestion of putting the base/silver/gold next to each other in an album would have a great effect too.

People who want different images it sounds good in theory but your actually dreaming, it takes so long to render something properly!

Although they do do a huge base set for traders so maybe they have a heap of graphic designers? But in all honesty if you wanted different images on every card youd have to enploy a few new graphic designers
