Ive heard people here use pack andctrack for international post.

Can someone explain the process for items that arent in the prepaid satchel. Eg. 500g padded envelope.

My PO in Adelaide, dont seem to know what Im talking about....

As far as I understand, prepaid comes with a consignment note, and non-prepaid you will have to have a consignment note attached.

And a PO that does Bank@Post

I have only used the 500g pre paid bags. After months of trying to work it out, I found a worker who actually knew what she was talking about. She checked the postage cost of my card I was sending with insurance and registered post, and it worked out about $6 more expensive than the 500g pre paid bag.
The pre paid padded envelope is the cheapest and easiest to use in my experience, even though it is over $20

I was going to say "you had it wrong" :) until I just looked on the Australia Post website and I cant find anything about them.
I sent a Andrew Luck to the States and a Jordan to Germany about 5-6 weeks ago and I used an Australian Post Pack and Track pre paid 500g padded bag with the consignment note attached. This worked out cheaper than using my padded envelope and attaching a consignment note.
Another reason to make a bit more money off everyone maybe.

Thanks for your help guys. Got it done ok. Even if my PO had no idea what they were doing, or what I was talking about, but they do now, and they let me take a few pack & track 500g Consignment notes with me for the future.

Cheers for the help.

Is this what you are talking about?

I posted a Andrew Luck to the US of Monday. I had it in a bubble mailer already so had to attach the consignment note to it. Cost $21 or so.

Checked the tracking this morning & it is already in LA :)

@Maurice i was told that registered is not tracked the whole way. Maybe you got lucky though and the US mail peeps scanned it through

Unless you attached a pack & track con note to that mailer.

It was $20.10

Ill attach a pic of the con note later.

No i didn't ship using the picture i posted.

I did ship pack & track though & they attached a note like the one seen on that package on the front.

Yes, it cost $20.10 aswell.

i use pack and track when ever i send anything overseas as long as its available to that country.
Ive only ever experienced 1 problem where the attached note did get ripped off and went to the lost mail but i called and got it back.
SO now i always tape the ends so it doesnt happen and it never has again.
Awesome service as the tracking online really helps

I use the envelopes Maurice posted all the time! They are trackable once they arrive in the destination country using their local post service website (e.g USPS). If you can't work out which site to use, you can phone Auspost and they are able to track it on their internal system!

So just got off the phone to austpost.
One of my parcels has, according to tracking, gone to Tennessee when it was addressed to Kentucky.
Apparently their advice is to use registered international. It's the same price as pack and track and gets signature confirmation and can be tracked also.

All good in theory!

But I have opted for the sig confirmation several times in the past and never once received the signed card back! Package arrived safely every time, but that's not the point!

Not sure Billy. But I think the reason we used trackable international is supposedly because both the seller and buyer are then covered by paypal if it doesnt get there.

But we all know how helpful paypal are with sellers....
